Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect of the underbody' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Inspect damage nothing definitive as cause of damage' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have my manual transmission blocked up vertically so I can separate the busted casing from the rear casing. New to this, retired engineer and I want to learn about the transmission. I have them about 1/2” apart and they won’t go any further. Shift levers still in and I not sure how to get out. I have the Bentley book, I go on you tube, Pelican forum and will research for a solution. Any info, methods to get trans apart would be greatly appreciated. Thanks I will try to post some pics. I bought 911 from Copart and it came with broke trans casing.

There is a bolt on the left side of the trans near the rear that holds the shift fork guide. Take it out and wigle and jiggle the rear case and it will come off. the tricky part is reinstalling the rear case.
I received a site on you tube that shows taking apart and reassembling transmission with diagrams which really makes understanding what to do. I print out the diagrams some parts are numbered and go. Thanks..
Bought 911 on Copart auction. Description said runs and drives. Car was in Georgia, I didn’t go look at it. I wanted a car with no body work needed, dual IMS 1999, manual transmission and mechanical problems. When I got car and put it on my lift in garage looked underneath and found transmission bell housing completely unattached to engine and small piece broken out of engine bell housing. Also oil pan had a mark on it right at the plug. Oil pan had fine small crack. Replaced.I inspected all of the underbody. No damage on splash guards. One nick 1/8” on outside of where sway bar connects at bushing to suspension. After much discussion and other eyes inspecting damage nothing definitive as cause of damage. This the different opinions: 1. Copart did it with their forks when loading or moving. 2. Engine high revs and put in gear. 3. Car drove off of road and a rock or some other hard material. Once I get into the trans I’ll get more info if car abused. I’m going to replace IMS, RMS, Throw out bearing. Possible replace of clutch, flywheel etc. After removal and inspection. May remove engine.
