Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

My best description is "metallic eggplant"--color changes depending on ambient lighting--from dark grapy, to a purpley grey--different than Violachromafair on Milleniums but similar--a great color IMHO and fairly scarce.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Does anyone know what this color looks like? What do you think sbout it? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I believe you are making reference to Vesuvio metallic which is dark blue with a hint of purple. A pretty color introduced with the '97 Carrera S.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your response. I checked and it is Vesuvio Metallic - one piece of info says vesuvio grey metallic - the picture looks dark grey with a hint of purple.

POST 4Original post

It is a dark grey. It's beautiful! I was close to ordering Vesuvio for my 996 and ended up getting Slate Grey Metallic. The Vesuvio is really nice though, just the slightest hint of purple in a deep grey. Call around to your local dealerships and ask if they have it. It's such a subjective thing, you should really see it for yourself.

POST 5Original post

I have a Vesuvio metallic 99 996 coupe for sale. Pix at www.funcarsonline.com. My best description is "metallic eggplant"--color changes depending on ambient lighting--from dark grapy, to a purpley grey--different than Violachromafair on Milleniums but similar--a great color IMHO and fairly scarce.
