Most likely the case, I'll probably see that written in the police report.
Leading evidence: 'case, i'll probably see' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'case, i'll probably see' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run every prius i see off the road tomorrow' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Maybe it was the GT3 badge on a non-GT3 that set them off

But right as you're coming back from returning your shopping cart like a good person does so they don't leave them in the parking risking them running into other cars/people.

Called the police, the car is apparently at the towing place but it gets better...they don't know which towing place took it (our county uses two companies), neither of which are picking up the phone.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

...you come out of the supermarket after a long day of work to find an idiot in a PRIUS hit your car pulling into the spot next to you like speed racer. Not while you were in the store, no. Not as you're leaving the store, oh no. But right as you're coming back from returning your shopping cart like a good person does so they don't leave them in the parking risking them running into other cars/people. That's the last time I ever return my shopping cart.
As much as I mourn, the reality is, between selling the 996, paying off the Prius and insurance savings, I'm gaining $600 a month not counting additional 996 related expenses. Idiot? No. Genius? Yes.
Porsche > kid > wife
As long as you have the Porsche you can always get new versions of the later. Having the later two makes it hard to get more of the former
Unfortunately the 996. It's bad. The police took photo's I have to pick up with the report when it's ready. I don't know about this one...
Motor shifted, coolant hose tore off, entire exhaust system I threw all that money and time at mangled up now, suspensions done, even the rotor cracked...brake fluid everywhere, don't even want to think about the body...even the taco snapped...HOW CAN YOU SNAP MY TACO!
Sad day.
Lol well not everyone who drives a Prius is an idiot, but jeez it was like a 2 ton pickup rammed into the poor thing. They were flying into a freaking parking spot. Bet their battery juice spilled everywhere.
In retrospect, sure its devastating what happened...I kid you not watching it in front of your own two eyes was horrifying. I'll never forget that for as long as I live.
Gotta give it to him, he's a true Californian. You know, respecting smog and emissions blah blah blahhhhhhhhh
On the east coast, not so much. Plus New Jersey drivers are the worst of the worst....maybe New Jersey people are too, hmmm.
Thanks man, but I've got that covered. Took off from work to (mourn) drive my F250's brush guard and winch into every Prius in New Jersey, maybe the entire east coast. #PriusBeware
Damn. I've been hit by full size SUVs and taken less damage
If you've got your receipts for the work, go after every penny.
Oh and because no such thread would be complete with out it...
I'm sure it will buff right out.
no no no, that's a brilliant idea....uhhh hey Progressive, you made a mistake, it's not a Carrera 2...IT'S A GEE TEE THREE!
Hey that badge didn't come cheap!
I am not against the Prius, just Prius drivers. What is it with them? On the highway they get in the way and just sit there like they are trying to set some new world mileage record. In town I have noticed they blast around cars and drive like maniacs. My wife told me the other day that a Prius driver tailgated her so close she got scared, then he proceeded to honk his horn and flash his lights to try and get around her....on a double lined residential street at 25mph! Something about their attitude. Rule of thumb...stay away from Prius drivers.
I'm waiting to get the pics from the police report, the police took photos. I had my keys and wallet with me because I had put my groceries and phone in the car because I was literally walking for 30 seconds to put the damn cart back when it happened. So, no food, no phone, no car. Had to borrow a strangers phone to get the wife to pick me up.
Called the police, the car is apparently at the towing place but it gets better...they don't know which towing place took it (our county uses two companies), neither of which are picking up the phone. So I'm going to both.
Insurance company goes "uhh you don't know where your car is?"
Exactly that...I saw him from a distance and he was going pretty slow but I guess he though oh parking spot and slammed on the accelerator. It wasn't even like he was pulling into the empty spot...at the angle he was pulling in it LOOKED like he was aiming at MY car!
His airbags deployed, he gets out "I NEED AN AMBULANCE" So of course he doesn't talk to me and half lays on the ground moaning for 10 minutes as though he was just catapulted from a moving vehicle and doesn't even respond to "are you alright?". I'm proud at myself keeping my composure. EMT's come and police talk to him and tell me they're going to investigate at the hospital because "he doesn't know what happened"
Oh and I forgot to mention, find my iPhone isn't helping me either because the last location is coming up as the supermarket...did he not only kill my 911 but my iPhone too?
This kind of person is the best argument for autonomous cars. They have no culpability or respect for anyone else.
You handled it well. If this were me I would have made sure that ambulance was warranted
They're totaling it. There's no question about it...unless some miracle happens. Will post pics as soon as I get my hands on them, or my phone...whichever is first.
100% agreed. My guess is he got distracted and cut the wheel too late. No excuse. Then he got embarrassed so he laid there and moaned til the EMT's arrived. I guess he plead the fifth to me...he'll be getting some points on his license, at the very least that's an easy careless and reckless driving ticket.
I have the perfect place for it in my pull barn...Unfortunately I would only be able to part it out, which I'll probably pass on. If any of the exhaust components (headers, mufflers, cats) are untouched then those will be salvaged and passed on to any of you who may want them. If the chassis was fine I'd even opt for an LS swap.
I wouldn't even want it back because it's got Prius in it now
I think you forgot the brakes/suspension/front tub/etc.
Regardless she was a beauty and sucks to lose her. Hope you're able to get everything sorted out with the insurance.
Should we be expecting a new car suggestion thread now that you're in a different situation?
