My '03 Cab. had the passenger side window fail. Would only go down about 1/4 inch. So my indie repair place put in a new regulator. The part is about $250. What I thought was interesting was the mechanic who did the work said: "funny, I rarely see a driver's side fail. It's almost always the passenger side". The failure was the cable inside the regulator stretches and then fails. I was impressed at how complex this mechanism is. And there are all the "micro adjustments" such as when the window drops a bit when you open a door.

I tried to replace my passenger's side regulator some time ago. I had bought one, which was marked "R". When we removed the existing one it was marked "L". We left it alone since the existing one is working except that it is apparently stretched and does not go down enough when opening the door. Do any of you recall the marking on the passenger side regulator?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
