Just bought the car and in the wet PSM light flashes quite easily (tires are 5 years old so almost time to replace but tread is good), then the car hesitates and stutters under 2000 RMP when starting off in 1st or 2nd from a rolling stop and acted like this for my whole 15-min drive.

2000 C2, 32k miles Just bought the car and in the wet PSM light flashes quite easily (tires are 5 years old so almost time to replace but tread is good), then the car hesitates and stutters under 2000 RMP when starting off in 1st or 2nd from a rolling stop and acted like this for my whole 15-min drive. Revs up fine beyond about 2000 and the next day it drove totally fine. It seems that after PSM activates the car can't recover from it cutting the power. Any ideas? No CEL is coming on so I guess it's not misfiring. With my previous '99 C4 I almost never saw the PSM light go off, I assume due to the added front wheel traction and newer tires.

Get a Durametric and test for fault codes.... You may just have a faulty brake switch that is causing the PSM issue and if the brake switch is funky/sticking the cars computer will cut power ( think you are wanting to stop from accelerating)

With a 23 year old car with only 32K your going to run in to bits that are just aged out, suspect all rubber parts, Make sure all funds are fresh. Electrical gremlins due to minor corrosion in connectors... Thes cars punish owners who ignore them.. LOL

sounds like a couple of things. Try electric spray on the MAF and vacuum leaks. That�s where I would start. I had a similar issue when my maf was dirty. The PSM light and abs came on after I plugged the sensor in backwards.
