This is not a probability of success.

It appears that if the Porsche engine has a factory damper on the 3.8 engine, one should continue using a damper pulley.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm looking to add an under drive pulley for DEs to help protect the power steering pump. From a performance standpoint, the engine is stock. I'm looking at the RSS and the Tarett, the RSS is harmonically balanced but its $500 vs $185 for the Tarett. Is the RSS worth the premium? Or is there another one that I should consider?
This is the one thats been on my 'watch-list'

Does the FSI include a belt or is that another piece that needs to be purchased?
Cool. The RSS version appears to get a 5% horsepower gain.
It appears that if the Porsche engine has a factory damper on the 3.8 engine, one should continue using a damper pulley. But other engines dont need the damper.

Please note that like all other underdrive pulleys, you will need to shorten the TDC pin boss on the engine block to allow for installation of the smaller diameter underdrive pulley; replacement pulley does not have provision for locking engine at TDC or cam timing marks. You should retain your stock crankshaft pulley for use in the event that you need to reset your camshaft timing.
Thanks, I think I was looking at the RSS one which mentioned the additional items needing to be purchased, and just assumed the same when I saw the pulley-only pic on FSI.
I have been running a FSI under drive pulley on my 3.6 Boxster S since 2015 . I am also running one on my recent 3.8 build in my C4 . No issues at all . Engines run and idle smooth . AC works fine . I highly recommend .
