Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace badging' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace badging' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all,
After a few years away from the Pcar world (deeply regret selling both the Macan S and 997.2 C2S coupe), I recently picked up a C4S cab for a song. 85k miles, 6MT, hardtop included, X51, PSE, PCCM+, sport seats with excellent service history. In the last 2 years, IMS solution, RMS, clutch/flywheel, window regulators, blower motor and a few other minor maintenance items (brake fluid, coolant, etc). Plus a long history of regular oil changes and tstat/water pump at ~60k. Came with a set of winter tires on 18" turbo looks.
First task was grabbing a set of Sport Techno wheels with factory spacers on p zero tires from a RL member (Thanks Duke!). They appear to be in nearly perfect condition. Then heater core as I caught it early via a maple syrup smell in the cabin. Interior, leather and exterior look great for a 20 year old car.
Now for what's next? Only one fix needed and other preventative maintenance plans. What else besides these would you do? I won't track the car but spirited canyon carving out here in CO.
- Medium vibration in the cabin at highway speeds, including steering wheel. Previous winter set had massive spacers on them. Have yet to diagnose but possibly tires out of round, unbalanced wheels, bent wheel or maybe the car is just more sensitive in these tires and suspension is showing it's age?
- Replace badging on rear
- Paint seat backs arctic silver and center console alumalook
- Replace motor mounts
- Suspension refresh (control arms, bushings, links, tie-rods)
- potentially new spring setup - would consider B6 or Feal for my driving style
I've planned to keep the car stock/OEM but let me hear your suggestions! I try to DIY as best as I can given my limited condo garage space. There's a DIY bay rental place in Colorado Springs that I will try out for some work. also, does anyone know a great shop in Denver for those I can't do?
Oh and obligatory pics
Thanks all - unfortunately front plates are required here, just haven't gotten them yet. Hearing a resounding "keep it stock", which affirms my planned approach. I forgot to mention this will be an all-season car. I plan to add sea sucker mounts to the hardtop for snowboards to head up I70.
Front plates are required in NJ as well but I've gone 4 years and 42k miles without a front plate and nobody seems to care. I always carry the front plate in the car incase someone does care, and will say I just got the bumper repaired and haven't replaced it yet if asked why.
I actually used to have these on my bimmers and have always been a fan of debadging. I just don't think either would look great on this car.
car.
Also I'm a cheapskate. 🤣
Did a fair amount of research on this one. Apparently it's just that - a slightly thicker steering wheel than stock. It has a nice feel to it but means a little less leg room.
