This is not a probability of success.

This is more of what we all already know, but this article has some good 996 tidbits as well a reminder about the constant trash talk on the internet regarding all things new/old/change/unchanged.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Thanks for the link. I agree, my 2003 cabriolet will not be replaced. I have looked and driven multiple new models in the last 10 years. None are as comfortable or fun for me to drive. Add difficult task to keep a manual transmission, there is no way my car is going anywhere soon. I also appreciate this forums help in assisting with the very simple maintenance requirements. This car is very easy to take care of.

POST 3Original post

Am I the only one not that impressed with the choice of motor and the final power from all that work?

POST 4Original post

Agreed, I like Jethro and everything he says about the 996 a LOT, but I do feel that he probably would have saved some money and gotten a better result by bringing the original engine to Hartech instead of shoehorning a 991.1 engine in there. Or just buying a GT3 instead...

A fresh, burly Hartech 3.9 with serious go-fast goodies wouldve been cool, but not as yummy for click bait.

From Andrew Frankel, one of THE most highly regarded automotive journalists in the UK. Possibly little known across the pond, but hes been around a long time, and probably knew Chris Harris, Jethro and Henry Catchpole when they were in diapers : https://www.goodwood.com/grr/road/ne...el-its-friday/
