Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace last week' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check these both out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Frequent and routine oil changes with quality oil are a must for keeping the engine healthy and your pocketbook healthy too.

Not to mention the chemicals they use are just poor quality.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

- First-time Porsche owner
- 2004 911 c4s cab 6 speed - Atlas Gray Metallic with Black Full Leather
- super clean, only 22k miles
- L&N IMS installed and RMS replaced last week
Getting it shipped this week. Very psyched!! Ordered the PCCM Plus Apple Carplay unit as well. Very excited to hear people's experiences with these cars. Anything glaring I need to know about (I know - search the forums - but feel free to let me know).
Cheers everybody!

not a Porsche dealer, but a used car company who was asked to sell it on consignment. It's been with the same owner since 2007. He bought it CPO'd from a Porsche dealer. He's 83 now and couldn't really get in and out of the car very easily apparently.
Very nice, suggest to read these 2 articles to enrich your ownership experience.

Congratulations! It looks awesome! If you are not already addicted, you will be in short order!
You are likely aware of the 2 primary problems that you will find about these cars in all these pages: IMSB and Bore Scoring. You've got the first one covered. The 2nd one is kept away by meticulous maintenance. The info here is quite extensive and can be alarming. Don't be worried by it. Just take care of the car and drive it like you stole it!

Holy hell thats one beautiful ride. The exotic car most working men can actually afford. Feels good, doesnt it? ☺️ Congratulations! Just got mine 5 weeks ago and have put 1,200 miles on it already. Very addictive.
now this is one grimy ride
griminess continued
quick hose down
starting to look better
Now I need to find a hand wash place nearby to get this puppy shining! The threads seem to clearly warn against automatic car wash places with the cabriolet soft top...anyone disagree with that?
absolutely avoid automatic car washes... Not only will they do a serious number on your paint (swirls will begin to appear at a rapid rate), but they can definitely do some harm to the top. Not to mention the chemicals they use are just poor quality.
I bought myself a sun joe pressure washer 2 years ago... best $250 I have ever spent. Pair it with a foam cannon sprayer and you can detail your car better than a local touchless wash right from home, and its a lot of fun once the weather warms up a bit... im up in Boston, so I dont drive my Porsche in winter, but there are some pretty good products from Ammo NYC for winter washing etc to help you if you decide to run yours all year round.
check these both out:

You can use the touch less ones if it just needs a light cleaning. But anything like what showed up do it by hand then get in and go for a drive and enjoy the fun top down..
Not only that, I had my car paint corrected and ceramic coated, so I now wash my car by hand with a pressure washer, two bucket method, and a leaf blower to dry it off.
Very nice looking car! Congratulations! Now the madness starts
Raggtopp for the cab top. Yes, avoid automatic car washes, the top leaks and the brushes will scratch that beautiful paint. Frequent and routine oil changes with quality oil are a must for keeping the engine healthy and your pocketbook healthy too.
A 2004 uses MOST, an optical cable system for the radio, that will make the PCCM install harder. There are a couple of threads here about that.
Oh man. I was going to have my local car audio guy do it...I guess this MOST thing might make that approach a bit riskier...I will ask him if he's familiar. Thanks for the heads up!
Just read thru the recent threads to see what's involved in installing PCCM+ and show the critical parts to your car audio guy, like how to cut the existing bracket, etc. Porsche would prefer you have them install it and sell you a new dashboard frame for the radio.
