Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Previous owner of 1999 Cab decided to cut the brown connector from the audio, does anyone have a picture of the connector and the cables (colors) that I can use? I also intend to recreate it, if you know the part number... would be great :-) Thanks to this wonderful community!

POST 2Original post

The brown speaker connector is the same on all German cars from the mid 80's to today. You can get a replacement with short wires for splicing on Amazon quite inexpensively. My notes may not be totally accurate, so this might not be correct, but here is what I have anyway: Pin1 = Blue, right rear + pin 2 = Brown/Blue, right rear - pin 3 = Red, front right + pin 4 = brown/red, front right - pin 5 = yellow, front left + pin 6 = brown/yellow, front left - pin 7 = white, rear left + pin 8 = brown/white, rear left -

Thank you! Checking on amazon now... much appreciated! Seems to be " ISO 10487 Harness "

POST 4Original post

I believe the brown wire was just for the alarm. Most people cut it when installing aftermarket radios.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
