Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A buddy of mine rigged up an attachment (using Home Depot stuff) to carry two wheel/tires to the track.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know whether or not the roof transport system for the 996 is any good? My 996 is my only car and I simply need additional cargo space. Also, does anyone know whether or not the roof transport system is capable of carrying an extra set of tires/wheels for track days to avoid a mini trailer? Thanks, kilo.
It is great. I use a thule evolution box on it every winter on it. The bars are rock solid, and bolt into the car's roof. I can send you a pic if you want to see. I may even have mine for sale if my cars sells.

I've used the roof transport for my road bike on many occasions. Rock solid at speeds well in excess of the legal speed limits (so I hear). A buddy of mine rigged up an attachment (using Home Depot stuff) to carry two wheel/tires to the track. (he put the 3rd wheel in the back seat and the 4th wheel in the trunk).
me too. I have a roof transport system with a upright bike carrier sitting in my garage. Going to find a home for it since I won't be using it afterall. PM if interested.
LiveNupe, I bought the roof rack for mountain bikes as well as wheel transportation. Can you post some pics of what your buddy's wheel transport concoction looks like? I think the rack is rated up to 150#'s. Can anyone confirm this?
I intended to take a pic of his car with the tires mounted but got too busy and never got around to it. I e-mailed him this morning asking him to send me a pic of his car with the tires mounted. As soon as he sends it, I'll post it.
My buddy responded and I now have the picture. However, I'm not able to post pictures on the board right now. I'm getting a message indicating that I'm not a current member. If you PM me with your e-mail address, I'll e-mail the pic to you right away. Or, you can wait till I get an answer from the guys who run this board and I'm able to post pix again.

Thanks everyone for replying. I am new to the Rennlist but already know that I will love it. When I logged back on I coupldn't believe all of the responses.
Zoolander
, thanks for the invite!
42empress, earlyapex,

pjalexandre
all sent that you may have a roof transport system for sale. I am definately interested, I just couldn't figure out how to send a PM. I think it is because I am so new and I need to post a few times. So I will get in touch soon.
LiveNupe
, thanks for the info on the tire transport. I have a harness bar which takes up all the space behind the front seats so I don't think I will be able to get a tire back there. But its a great idea. Thanks!
Kilo - this is just so I don't disappoint Zoolander. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PICS??? Come on, post 'em up!
Zoo - did I cover it?
Kilo - Seriously, welcome to the Porsche Phunny Pharm!
Hi Everyone, Evidently Rennlist is pretty strict on "Rookies" and I still can not upload pictures or even include my email in a PM. I do have some sweet pictures form my trip to the factory last year. Once I get permission to attach photos they will be on the way!
Kilo - I think once you reach 5 (or maybe it's 7) posts, you will be able to post pics. If you have trouble posting pics, let me know and I'll give you my "can't miss" instructions to post a pic.
Kilo --
I also have the Roof Transport System for my Targa. The biggest downside was the noise, which is probably worse with my glass roof vs. the coupe with the sunroof closed. It starts getting loud above 40 mph, and I occasionally go faster than that ;-) And, if you don't like the way the rack looks on your baby, you are most definitely not gonna like the way the Thule wind fairing looks, though it helps with the noise. The alternative is getting a normal car, but who wants that?!
-- M
P.S. The looks and noise bothered me so much, the rack is now sitting in my garage and I take my wife's RX 300 to my bike races. The fact that I opt for the RX300 should tell you something.
Mikey (or anyone else): Can you post a photo or description of the Roof Transport System for the 996 Targa showing how it connects to the roof? I am trying to figure out what's so different from the coupe RTS that makes the list price go from about $600 for the coupe up to $1100 for the Targa. It seems to me that they would be the same. All of Porsche's Techquipment photos do make them look the same (heck, even the cabriolet RTS looks the same in their literature). Thanks!
I ended installing a Willwood bumper-mounted rack on my 996 Targa. I put a description and photos on 6speedonline at
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...che-996-a.html
. I am happy with it.
Yeah, really.
%$@!
I read most of it before looking at the date, and almost sent a PM about the roof rack that some guy had available..... 8 freekin' years ago!
CUDA, i'm in your neighborhood and have one almost new in the box, purchased on-line from a reenlister a year ago for $350...never put it on. Let me know if u want to come look at it. I had all these plans....whatever-
