We've used a Clek Oobr for our 5-year old with the seat back removed and then just a basic backless booster for our 8-year old with the seat bottom removed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Like a handful of others here I've been trying to find the best forward car seat options for my 2004 C4S. I have two kids, one who is 4 and in a forward facing car seat and the other is 5.5 and in a booster. This thread is about a newly found option for a booster seat. I went to an Atlantic Health location yesterday to try and fit one that I bought and they said no to it. What they did say was to get a Mifold Grab-n-go Car Booster Seat: Amazon Amazon It's amazing. It basically fits the seat belt to your child rather than a booster seat to fit the seat belt, hope that makes sense. Just passing this info along to those that may have been in the same predicament as me!

POST 2Original post

I also have a C4s, and a 4yo! but we're trying to prolong the 5pt harness so I went with the Diono Radian and removed the seatbacks. I don't have any good pictures at the moment but I'm very happy with the fit (for a child's seat in a 911) and very confident in the installation taking advantage of the rear anchor point.

POST 3Original post

We've used a Clek Oobr for our 5-year old with the seat back removed and then just a basic backless booster for our 8-year old with the seat bottom removed. It's more of a pain in the Cab.

POST 4Original post

I have an 8yo, and in the 996 I have a Cosco Topside. Pretty cheap and fits no problem, seems to be pretty comfortable. I also have the MiFold, and it's great, too. Used both of them last week when I was shuttling my daughter and her friend around.

POST 5Original post

This is what I use for my son in the 944 with only a lap belt. I like it and I've had good customer service from the company. https://shop.saferide4kids.com/produ...er-travel-vest

If ever you get around to it could you post a picture? I'm curious to see the fit before i order one myself.

I'll get some today! I like the Diono form factor and seating postion so much I bought a second one for my wife's MDX.

POST 8Original post

Passenger seat is in its normal position (about even with the driver's seat). I haven't sat over there but its in a comfortable place for my wife at least. Seat backs and bottom are removed, there is a dip that requires some sort of padding to keep the seat level (this seat comes with a piece of foam for a different seating position that works well) Something I don't necessarily like is the direction/placement of the belt receptor, since it is pretty far (and facing) forward. rear anchor takes a little effort to uncover and requires the carpet to be cut. I also have Bose which takes up the whole rear shelf, things might fit differently without that in place. There is also 1-2" of clearance to the C pillar (doesn't show well in the picture), so there is no rubbing on expensive components.

Wow, that looks much better fitting then what I currently have in place. I also have the Bose system so I'll probably follow all the steps in your setup. Thank you again for this.

POST 10Original post

Anyone know of any good options for a 5 pt harness car seat in a 1999 996?

POST 12Original post

As far as I know the 1999 cars don't have the child seat latches..

POST 13Original post

Car seat update. After hesitating buying the Diono I am glad I held off as I was able to find an amazing option for a much lower price. I went with the Harmony Defender 360 for my 4yo with a 5 point harness. I used the rear latch and the car seatbelt running across the seat for a very snug and secure fit. I discovered that due to the seatbelt connector being so far forward it is very loose if I connect it going through the back of the chair. My oldest, 6yo uses the Harmony High Back Booster and he's always sat very comfortably with my chair almost all the way back. I'm 5'10" for reference. Hopefully this helps other parents daily driving these beauties PS: I did remove the back and bottom seats to get maximum fittment.
