I replaced all control arms recently and had zero issues that a little Exacto work didn’t fix during install.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

33 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im completely rebuilding the suspension on my 99 and many of the suspension parts have been superseded multiple times since the car was originally built. One example are the control arms. As you can see in the pic, the latest revision (99733104302) is thicker and therefore will no longer allow the original stone deflector to fit over it. Has anyone else run into this issue? Maybe the stone deflectors need to be changed out to the ones used on the 997?

POST 3Original post

They are pretty cheap or make them fit and tyrap them on.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18070567

Yes, though technically Porsche refers to them as a "spoiler" in the PET and as "stone guards" in other places. #tomatopotato

POST 5Original post

OP - You’ve most likely read at least some of the many threads mentioning duct options. Put the GT3 ducts on the front and the 997 Turbo ducts on the back. I replaced all control arms recently and had zero issues that a little Exacto work didn’t fix during install.

POST 6Original post

When I refreshed my '99 from the original arms to the Meyle, I just 'persuaded' the latch part to stretch out a bit. Haven't had any issues.

POST 7Original post

I upgraded to the GT3 ducts. They fit similar to the C2 ducts. The inside holes are not any larger.

POST 8Original post

Yeah, make them fit or use a knife to trim them. Mine are still doing fine after 18mo on there.

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 18070752

Do u have the part# for the 997t rear ducts?

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 18071448

I believe they're: Left: 997 331 487 02 Right: 997 331 488 02

POST 12Original post

To get the most out of those 997 brake spoilers you also need the brake ducts: 997.575.183.00 and 997.575.184.00 and rear undertray: 997.504.629.92.

POST 13Original post

So for the 996 the 997 rear setup is better then the 996 gt3 aero tray

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 18071818

well i dont have anything in the back now, so the scoops will be better then nothing. Ill probaby get the rest later this summer.

POST 15Original post

Subbing as I am just waiting for the suspension bits to get here.

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 18071818

Those are going to be difficult to find unfortunately.

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 18071888

Pelican Parts has the scoops in stock. I just ordered a set for myself. The rest seems to be difficult to find as they're NLA. Maybe DC Automotive or one of the other dismantlers has good used parts.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is what I ended up doing. I generally dont like taking this path with my cars but it seemed to be the most reasonable and appropriate action.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 18072570

DE Porsche shows all the part numbers as active. Not sure what availability is like but they can be ordered. I just dont want to spend the $300 on plastic when i coild use it for another track day.

POST 20Original post

Same here on my 1999. I am completely rebuilding the suspension, front and rear.

Quotes source posts: 18071818, 18072568, 18072570

Just an FYI, all the parts were available when I ordered on Monday.

POST 22Original post

Fyi on the rear control arm parts i had to trim them for my gt3 spec wheels and 295 tires and i had to trim the inner fender liner some too. Just took 5 min with a razor knife.

POST 23Original post

Quotes source post: 18127367

That's great! Can you tell us whether the part number have been superseded? Perhaps if there's a new number, that's all I need in order to...order. Also, from where did you order them?

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 18128347

I'd be interested in this as well.

POST 25Original post

Arrgh, now I'm being told the undertray and right duct are available, but not the left duct. Time to find a different dealer to order mine from.

POST 28Original post

Be aware that fitting the 997 under tray pictured in the post #26 above requires modifications if using on a 996 chassis as it's not a direct bolt on. " target="_blank"> 997.2GT3 rear brake ducts. I have; 997.504.629.92 belly tray 997.575.183.00 Left duct 997.575.184.00 Right duct 997.331.487.02 Left scoop 997.331.488.02 Right scoop This where it gets interesting. I had an order with Rose Passion and Gaudin going at same time and inadvertently ordered ducts from both places. Rose Passion had both in stock and Gaudin only had the left one (997.575.183.00). Gaudin said the right one (997.575.184.00) is coming from Germany. I have issues...

Wow, I have about 4 pair of shoes. I need to get a pair of Vans. I haven't had any in 40 years.

I have a pair of cold weather sneaker boots from Vans... they're fantastic. Vans are a timeless classic. Back to the vents, they're available from Pelican with the try being a special order parts. 385.00 without shipping and special freight for the SOP form Germany. Also need the part numbers for the one up front... I'm not entirely sure I have any plastics up there.
