Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys So one of the jobs I'm tackling at the moment is rebuilding my rear callipers . I've managed to get the old rusty bleed nipples out which I was pleased about !! Now the bad part! Tried to remove one of the rubber brake lines and it's spun the metal fitting it attaches to knackering that little metal brake pipe that goes to the Caliper and at the Caliper end I can't get the nut out to replace the line it rusted in there, had a flared end wrench on it but it's just going to snap if I force it any harder. Question is could I take these to an engineer shop or brake specialist and have them drilled out and helicoiled if they can't get them out??

POST 2Original post

Since you are going to replace the pipe and fitting, lock some vise-grips on it and give it a go. Oh, and soak it with some penetrating oil for awhile, maybe overnight.

POST 3Original post

Are you talking about #5 and #6 here? http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=604-15

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Joe I'm doing both sides so 5 and 6 , think I'm going to either cut the end of the line off and re flare where it meets the rubber pipe and leave the old metal pipe in or ask a shop to machine them out and helicoil if possible!
