I sourced an entire front drivetrain for the 2003 C4S I bought online - which turned out to have been converted to a C2S by a PO.
Leading evidence: 'have been converted' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'have been converted' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ebay' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. There's also a seller on eBay that all he does is sell used 996/Boxster/997 parts.

I have found Specialized German in AZ to be a reliable supplier of used stuff.

But, I always check EBay, because PRICE is the number one consideration for me.

If you are willing to use reclaimed parts I recommend 20th Street Auto out in Arizona.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK, folks, I've been a 996 owner for 4 whole months now. I've purchased only a few items via the net, but I've already been tutored that some places are better than others.
So: Who are your go-to vendors for genuine Porsche parts, and then for general other items? I'm not one to cheap-out, but I'd like a good deal, and, most of all, great service. I'll pay more for the latter.
I'm aware of some places only from reading threads on RL; the folks below are not a complete list, and if not listed, I just didn't know about them.
Pelican
AutoAtlanta
Sunset
Suncoast
Warehouse33
F1
Amazon (seems to be well-suited for Bosch parts!)
the California dismantler
the Oklahoma dismantler
Do you automatically just go to one vendor, or is *every* purchase a seek-to-obtain voyage?
Thanks!
Carl
My votes:
- Sunset (and sometimes ECStuning) for genuine Porsche (OE) parts
- Amazon for Bosch parts
- Warehouse33 seems to have good prices for OEM parts
- Pelican for alternator voltage regulator and low temp thermostat with housing
- Autoatlanta for parts diagrams
- ECStuning for hi-res parts photos

is my goto place for parts when I am looking for genuine OEM parts. They are not as popular with the Rennlist community but for me (SF bay area) they are both local and have great prices.
You can also order from 928sRUs.com. Roger lives in Double Oak so you can just drive to his place and pick up what you need. He can get parts to any model Porsche.
I had a great purchase experience with warehouse 33 about 6 weeks ago. Placed a large order with everything for a 60k service and a full brake job (rotors and pads). With the 10% off they were the cheapest by a country mile and shipping was free and very fast (2 days for everything).
You gotta add DC-Auto -- DEFINITELY for service!
Otherwise, I try to give Pelican the business due to their unselfish patronage of this Tech site.
But, I always check EBay, because PRICE is the number one consideration for me.
(It's amazing how many people complain about Walmart and it wiping out "the Mom-and-Pop" stores, but keerist, I always catch them shopping in Walmart -- hypocrits!)
+996 for warehouse33auto.com
also a great place for factory Porsche parts is genuineporscheparts.com
They are an online sales dept of Porsche dealer in San Diego and have the best prices I have found of factory parts
Well, I can't recommend Jason from warehouse 33 enough.
Customer service is great. Part prices looks competitive with other vendors at first (ECS and pelican) but after you factor rennlist 10% discount and very low shipping cost, my orders ended up close to 20% cheaper.
They shipped my order right away too. Not my first time ordering parts from warehouse 33 and will consider them first when I need to get stuff for my 996.
I've had pretty good luck with DC Auto for used parts, they messed up a few times but they sent a call tag out and sent the correct parts. There's also a seller on eBay that all he does is sell used 996/Boxster/997 parts. I bought a few from him too. Probably one of the best packing jobs I have ever seen.

I'm guessing that you're referring to "QualityPorscheParts" on eBay-

I sourced an entire front drivetrain for the 2003 C4S I bought online - which turned out to have been converted to a C2S by a PO. Responds well to a reasonable "Best Offer" and does fantastic packaging. Highly recommended.
That's them, I bought a few things for my 996 that the PO messed up. I made offer's too and once again the was packaging great. They however don't respond to emails.

If you like personal service, and quick shipping another vote for Roger at 928sRus.com. He sells tons of 928, 944, 996, and 968 parts and can get anything you need pretty quick. If not there, for commodity items I've used rockauto.com and found their prices to be quite reasonable. Sachs clutch kit for $260-400 plus shipping. Hard to beat that.
