Anyone interested in a GT3 style bumper for the 996

I am sure everyone on the board here knows the GT3 aerokit available for the 996. Well on that end, I wanted to remove my bumper and offer it to anyone interested. It has been on the car for about 2500 miles. It is painted Artic Silver and has small rock chips, but no scratches or anything of that nature...never been bumped etc. The reason? I have been offered a bumper conversion to make my front end look like a Turbo GT2 from an aftermarket tuner. Thanks

Ben I couldn't email you. The admin blocked your email address. But regardless I think it's the most common bodykit...it's the one where the bodykit goes with that "taco" rear wing. HI, I'm interested. Is this the factory installed optional aerokit bumper, or is it the GT3 cup bumper? They look very similar, but the Gt3 cup bumper's lip is a little lower. Send me a pic please: [email removed]

I don't mean for this to be a silly question, but the bodykit I am putting on will be the Techart Widebody with the new (yet released) Techart bumper based on the GT2 (with the air scoop where the hood ends). The widebody portion of the kit is not the problem, the real issue is whether I can get the 2001 Turbo style headlamps onto my 2000 C2 without having to replace the front left and right fenders. From a visual standpoint they look like they fit right in. Does anyone have any opinions or know how on this? And further more, once the front bumper is removed and replaced with the new GT2-look bumper (which I am told will fit a standard Turbo) would there have to be major work done to fit it? Asked in another way: can the standard 2001 Turbo front bumper be fitted on the standard 2001 C2 without too much modification to the underpinnings (assuming the headlights were not an issue)? I'm interested in the bumber if it is still available. My email is [email removed]. As far as I know, the turbo lights won't fit on the non-turbo 996 without changing the front fenders. I was looking into that option as well. There is a 996 Cab that was converted to turbo-look by By Design. You can check out there web site at www.e-bydesign.com.

Steven, Thanks for the tip. I guess I will hold off on the selling of the bumper for now since I am getting mixed results on the opinion of whether the turbo style lights will fit the standard 996. I want to make sure one way or another before I commit to selling. Seeing that I am installing the TechArt Widebody kit, I want to make sure the panels fit the new fenders if it comes to that (to house the new headlights). So in turn there are a lot of variables I have to sort out. Thanks for the tip though. I will call By-Design and ask them on the install of the car you mentioned. I will keep you posted on how these matters work out. For now consider the sale of the bumper in limbo.
