Just finished replacing the ignition lock switch, but no joy-problem persists: Car is a 99 manual. The car doesn't recognise that the key has been pulled out and the warning chime persists. Tapping the lock gets the chime to stop, but then the key will not insert. Wiggling the steering or waiting will finally get the lock pin to snap in, then the key goes in. So- I want to replace the steering lock assembly to end this. Pelican offers a URO for $266 and a genuine Porsche for $512. They look identical. Does anyone have any experience with the URO part? Thanks in advance

I bought the Porsche part number from Amazon in 2021. Installed with no problems. Not sure if that helps. Shipped on March 22, 2021: Items Ordered Price 1 of: Porsche 996 347 017 07, Ignition Starter Switch, Sold by: B2C Auto Parts. $246.86
