Suggestion

If you want to use the front struts from a C2, youll have to convert your car to RWD, and use the C2s carriers and other associated parts - I think the brake calipers will need to be changed too, but Im not fully sure of that, so I would suggest some additional research.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, I want to change the Rear GAS-FILLED STRUT for my 4S but... it seems to be not the same between 4s and the other 996 (without car hood). Do you know the difference ? And why ? I'd like to understand. Thank's in advance

POST 2Original post

Are you asking about the difference between struts for the RWD and AWD cars? If so, the front struts are different between those two cars. Theyre not interchangeable. The rears, however, are interchangeable. edit: Forgot to mention that the difference is due to the wheel carriers accommodation of the front drive axles in the C4. If you want to use the front struts from a C2, youll have to convert your car to RWD, and use the C2s carriers and other associated parts - I think the brake calipers will need to be changed too, but Im not fully sure of that, so I would suggest some additional research. edit2: disregard the above

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry, I miss to tell that is for the rear struts But I insert a link to pelican about what i'm speaking. Because maybe it's not the right word for this part :/ https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...512-551-04-OEM And yes it's for the difference btw RWD and AWD I not understand why a RWD haven't the same than a AWD :/

POST 4Original post

Haha, my apologies for thinking about the suspension struts. I dont know why the decklid struts are different for AWD and RWD cars. I know the AWD decklids are different than the RWD version, so maybe there is a difference between both that requires a different strut. If I had to guess, I think one of those decklids may be heavier than the other.

Have a look at the Rennline mechanical struts. https://www.rennline.com/rennline-ul...ical-sku-e205/
