I'm changing my window regulator and this male electrical connecter broken when I pulled it out of the socket. Can someone help me ID a source and method for repair?
There are all kinds of crimp on male/female connectors that will work fine. I needed a new connector for my license plate lights and grabbed a generic one from O'reillys. There are also male and female insulated individual connectors too. You may may be able to find a part number on the connector that failed, AMP is one manufacturer and you may get lucky and find a usuable part number that you can search with. Mine, there wasn't enough left of the connector to search with.
Thanks to those that gave feedback. I zoomed in with my phone (thanks 42 year old eyes...) and was able to locate a Mercedes Benz symbol and part number. One number was difficult to make out because it was on the break line from when it fell apart. For the time being I was able to JUST BARELY solder an 18 ga wire onto the broken leads just visible on the end of the male socket and then solder them back to the door harness so I am back in operation. This plugged into one of the interior handle microswitches and after soldering, reassembly, and testing I can verify the window operates properly in every way.
I stopped trying to research the actual part because I knew it was going to be difficult to source in a timely manner and I was having little luck searching and filling in that blank number. I found one website that might have had it but it was overseas and didn't have a picture. The part number was something like 032 545 1_28 where the blank might be a 9, might be a zero or a 6, like I said I gave up for now as I restored function with some creative soldering. If it ever fails I know my solder job broke and I might revisit.
I did the same thing. The part number is Mercedes 032-545-19. Now on the hunt to find it. It also pushed wire into the broken part and going to see if I can make work if I cant find this connector. Just seems a little shoddy not to have the right fix. Funny, I even have the same countertop!!!
