I got a custom set done for my 525i before, doubt it's because I'm in the industry or anyone special.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Guys, just purchased a 99 yellow c2 with factory aerokit. It is getting dropped off to me on monday. My questions is im looking to lower the car and not break the bank. What coilover options are out there without having to spend $2500 or more? What are your thoughts on just lowering springs?
I dont know,
@hbdunn
s car was on springs and replacement shocks and the thing hauls *** on track.
Not sure how the ride on the street would be but as far as looks (drop) and performance, seems to be working well for him.
Id worry about catching up on all deferred maintenance first.
Replacing 25 year old fuel injectors, water pump, flushing all fluids , etc. should take precedence over lowering your 996.
But what do I know?
Everyone relax lol.. All those things are addressed. Simply asking about a lowering options thats it. I own a 991.2 gts and a 991 gt3 so i know the porsche game well. I am just not trying to spend 5k on suspension of a car thats worth 35k.
OP - What dampers are currently installed and what condition? That will generate more focused discussion. How much drop and what alignment spec you desire will determine how far $2500 will take you.
If
you only want lower with less innate push
and
the shocks are not pogo sticks from age and wear, springs and a rear sway may be all you want.
H&R + B8's rides like crap lol. I bought my car with them installed and I can't wait till I have $2500 burning a hole in my wallet for a custom set of Redshift coilovers.
Congrats on the purchase, you beat me out if it is the Birmingham Lexus car, looks nice. Get it ready for Werks Amelia Island if you can there is never enough yellow at the event 😀

BC Racing makes a 996 C2 kit, so Chris just has to order the right cartridges from BC. I got a custom set done for my 525i before, doubt it's because I'm in the industry or anyone special.
What does the price you paid for the car have to do with it? You can spend more money, GT3 LCA's and so on, but a proper basic suspension refresh is going to have a relatively fixed price.
@retrojay2345
Glad someone here bought that car, I had seen it for sale at the Dealer Complex where I retired ( Porsche Birmingham) and thought it would make someone here a very nice car !! Congrats !!!
No, I just saw that it was for sale locally at my old Dealer Complex and "dreamed of owning it"..lol.. I have no place to put another Porsche. ( or the $$$ to upkeep it)
I just saw that it's a very rare early 99 , Speed Yellow, LSD, Sport seats , painted hardbacks , Factory Aero, looked to be all factory original, no mods, but is missing all the crests on the center caps. Do you have the full options list? So I can "dream some more" ..lol
This is my option list if it helps.
Yes when i get the car on wed i will be powder coating the wheels the original silver with new caps. Suspension refresh, paint front and rear bumpers and a 3 spoke steering wheel.
