Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Glad to hear the car was repaired and back on the road.
Leading evidence: 'Repair glad' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Suggestion
I hope that you are aware of DIMINISHED VALUE that you should collect from the insurance company (not an easy task)...The repair will show on CARFAX (maybe) and your car will unfortunately have "diminished value".

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All,
i had an unfortunate start to my 996 ownership but through that I had the satisfaction of squeezing an insurance company (the one that pays Aaron Rogers) for repairs they initially refused to cover. Skipping to the punchline, the insurance companies will never disclose that they pay for jig rental but can be forced to.
First, short story is that I bought a car in California in January but live in Virginia. Instead of shipping I decided to fly my parents out to pick it up and drive it back. It was actually my moms idea and allowed them to visit friends and family along the way back. They took about a month to get back. Around Dallas an open trailer dropped a large wooden box on the interstate and it ripped up the front end of the car. It was drivable and my parents tracked the driver down and got his information. When they returned to Virginia I dropped it off at the body shop and they found torn metal in the front tray. That necessitated cutting out the front trunk area and welding in a new one. That requires a model-specific jig. Aaron Rogers employer decided that the body shop should own the jig for the car while body shops typically rent them. I asked them to find a shop that owns it and, in the end, they couldnt and relented. But, the important part is that they told me and the body shop that they would never disclose that they paid for the jig rental because they did not want any proof that they ever pay for that cost. It never appeared on any remittance, estimate or invoice but the body shop was paid. And on Friday, I finally got my car back (and finally got to drive it.)
so if your car requires a jig rental for repair, you can force them to pay for it.
First and foremost, your parents weren't hurt. Everything else can be replaced, not the people in your life. Glad to hear the car was repaired and back on the road. Enjoy!
Also happy to hear that no one was injured.

I was able to collect this on an accident that was not my fault.
My my agent actually suggested I pursue a DM claim and i will. Just not sure where to start. The car was just a few thousand $ short of being totaled. Had i used a shop with a Porsche labor rate, it would have been.
Here is the car the day before the accident

Our other project, just back from paint.
Any help is very much appreciated.
That is not bad at all! That's one thing I have seen many times. I am shocked at how little damage these cars sustain and are totaled.
I've bought back several cars the ins co totaled and had them fixed myself.
The car drove perfectly fine with that damage, correct?
Glad it's back. Insurance companies can be difficult. Sounds like it worked out well. Hopefully you get some advice on DM claim procedure from someone here who has been through it.
It has been my experience, that State Farm "Claims department" (the people you speak with) are able to reimburse for things that the "Estimatics department" (the people we speak with) won't pay for. First and foremost, they need "PAID" receipts. They can always say they will not pay for something, but once an actual receipt is presented, by law (insurance code), they have to review it and either deny it in writing and cite the provision of your policy that states they don't cover said expense, or they will be forced to pay for it.
I'm not a lawyer or even a state licensed adjuster, so I can't give you legal advice to the matter. But I certainly don't want you to bear the brunt of this burden without knowing you have recourse.
Consider speaking with the PACC, and offer to pay the difference, and ask for a cash discount. For example, if they charge $3000 over, and will accept $2000 from you, when you submit your bill to SF, the hope is that (at least) $2000 of it will be reimbursed.
