You can run the stalk or just wire buttons if you have blank "un-used" ones on the dash next to the HVAC/Radio.

I suppose from this point forward simply coding the obc option out using Piwis should work?

Does anyone know of any reason why I might run into trouble adding a 4 stalk unit to the steering column on my MY99? And, is the wiring there already to connect the 4th stalk to control the OBC?

The wiring is not there, you can either make a harness or there was a guy that makes them (not sure if he's still around, will have to do a forum search). I posted the basic connections in the "what you didn't know" stickied thread. You can run the stalk or just wire buttons if you have blank "un-used" ones on the dash next to the HVAC/Radio.

I enabled the On Board Computer in my MY99 a few years back. Rather than install a 4th stalk, I added a switch in the dash to control it. Frankly, I seldom use any of the features, but it's there. I have gone the opposite route recently, ''backdating'' my 996's 4-stalk to a base Boxster 2-stalk unit eliminating both obc function and cruise control. I suppose from this point forward simply coding the obc option out using Piwis should work?
