Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Install correctly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean who the hell cares where they are' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If they work and keep the windshield clean who the hell cares where they are from.

Seriously, that's where I take the S430 for oil changes now.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I noticed the wiper blades on my new-to-me '01 996 C2 were pretty well toasted, so I decided to run out to the store for new blades.
So I obtain a pair of 22" blades from (gasp) WalMart. Simple, right? A wiper is a wiper is a wiper, as long as the size is correct, right?
NOOOOooooooo....... not on the Porsches. Didn't notice it beforehand, but only upon removal did I notice the spoiler on the underside of the driver's blade. Oh well, I won't be driving at speed in the rain if I *did* get caught up in it, so installed the new Michelin blade and moved to the right side.
Hmmm.... no spoiler - did someone install a wrong blade? Didn't even notice the next trick until I laid the old blade on the bench - the pass side is CURVED?!?
*sigh* At least it wasn't a high dollar waste.
Posting this mainly for any other newbies that might be thinking it's time for new blades.
So much to learn.... Assume nothing....

You want to know what else? On my the drivers side is 22" but I have found that a 22" blade on the passenger side whacks the cowling, so I put a 21" on that side. Perfect! And yes, my wiper arms are installed correctly.
+1.
Bosch blades from Pelican.
One is straight and has the spoiler. The other is curved and has no spoiler.
Comes packaged as a kit with both blades.
Just changed out both Porsches this AM.
It's "heresy," you damn heretics.
Windshield wipers seem like one of those things that ought to be universal, but NOOO. The 996 issues are described above. My '96 Corvette has very limited clearance between the hood and the windshield; Autozone wiper blades are about 1/8" too tall and get stuck. They also take nicks out of the fiberglas/plastic hood if you don't happen to notice this right away. Grrrrrrrrr.
I basically bought my car from WalMart (well, at least that's what they say over on the 996TT forum).
Seriously, that's where I take the S430 for oil changes now. It's got over 190k miles on it - I sure as hell ain't taking it to the local dealership: "Here are your keys, Mr. the attorney, that'll be $250 for the oil change and $2 million to fix all of the stuff on it that isn't broken but Mercedes says should be replaced because it might break at some point in the future."
I used mine to clear the gore away after plowing through a crowd of 99 Percenters in the recent Occupy San Diego demonstration.
Anyone know of a good shop to do a front bumper respray? Turns out that shins and knees can crack the paint.
If they work and keep the windshield clean who the hell cares where they are from. IMO, I swap my blades on both cars at least 1 times/yr. I start the winter off with a new set and replace in the Spring, as MI winters eat the blades up and for the 996, I put new ones on in spring after storage.
I don't think I would change them out as much paying more than $20/side. Well I probably would, at least for the Cayenne but wouldn't be that happy.
After a 20 second google search, for less than $5 a piece these seem like I'll take a shot for a month with them and report back.

the thing I require with my blades are the flex arms (like Bosch Icon's the ones I currently have on both Porsche's) and not the metal 1s with multiple pressure points, they don't seem to last more than a few uses.
Just this morning I stopped by Walmart for a jug of M1 5w20 to give my MDX its pre-winter oil change. For the MDX, that's where I get my oil, filters, wiper blades, etc. I guess I'm a heratic ... Err, hieratic ... Err, you know what I mean.
Mrs. KoB takes her car to the dealer. She won't admit it, but I think she has a thing for their barista.
