Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I figure it has to be something of import, as the engine cooling fan ran for about five minutes after I let the car idle for about two minutes.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That was quick. I noticed that when I started her up the oil pressure was hovering just over 3 bar. I took her out of the driveway and made it one hundred feet - noticing the pressure rise to 5 bar - when the CEL popped on. I brought her back into the driveway and turned her off and heard a whirring, fan-like, coming from the engine. Lasted probably 30 seconds. What do you think is the problem? Thank you!

POST 2Original post

Read the CEL ? Let us know and we can give further guidance.

POST 3Original post

Oil pressure is supposed to be at 5 bar when you are starting the car with cold engine. Scan the CEL, and report back.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It will have to be tomorrow morning, if the mechanic I want to see can take me in.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Also, does the CEL always come accompanied with the message to take the car to a mechanic in the center console screen?

POST 6Original post

Yep, as far as I am aware, any CEL will give you that message.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I figure it has to be something of import, as the engine cooling fan ran for about five minutes after I let the car idle for about two minutes. It's in the 50's outside. I haven't seen anything leaking. Looks like it is definitely going in tomorrow morning.

Check if the temp sensor has fallen out of the grommet, onto the engine block.
