Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Knowing for sure what IMS bearing is in there is almost impossible unless you use a bore scope like camera to look in the bell housing area to see.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I'm about to make an offer on a well kept 2001 C4 Coupe Tiptronic. It belongs to a family friend so I know the car has had a relatively easy life. The car had a brand new engine installed at Porsche in 2012 due to some catastrophic failure. The owner is an elderly man and the car appears to be in incredible condition, with full maintenance records etc. My question is, is it likely that the new engine would have an uprated IMS bearing, considering it was installed in 2012? (the car has done about 15 000 miles since then on the new engine, total mileage around 100 000 miles) The engine code for the new engine is M9604AT66166578. I've tried to decipher this but still unsure. Any ideas?
Also, while im here... The car has got some really ugly rear parking sensors, i'm sure you guys know what i'm talking about. Has anybody got any insights as to how i can make these more aesthetically pleasing? Either by changing them or possibly even removing the ugly housings around each sensor... ?
Thanks!

Bottom line, don't agonize about it and buy the car and drive it like you stole it! These cars love to be driven hard...

OP - Serno 66526 is the earliest engine I’ve found through research built with 6305 bearing. All the 6305 bearings use 22mm nuts. This AT engine is pretty sure to have the newer bearing.
I've recently been looking into "AT" replacement engines and similar info re serial numbers & larger, 6305 IMS bearing. Found reference in forum for 65131 having this bearing, which is the earliest I have found.
