I ran 9 (ET50) and 11" (ET56) BBS LM's on my Mk1 (but it required the rear fenders be rolled) :

Suggestion
Rear 10 x 18 ET65 (see above re factory fitted spacer so again they're effectively ET60 or 58) Both are relatively "weak" offsets that fail to fill the fenders convincingly.
Leading evidence: 'Run 9 (et50) and 11" (et56) bbs lm's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill fenders convincingly' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Suggestion
So if you're running an OZ that's 8.5" wide with an ET50 offset, you're running 10mm inboard of the fender compared with an OE GT3 wheel.

Suggestion
So if you're running the 53 ET offset you're running 13mm inset compared with an OE 996.2 GT3/GT2 wheel.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi!
Didn't find a daily questions thread so sorry for creating a new one for a small question. Google did not give me a clear answer.
I came into some turbo twists in a weird ofset at 18x8.5 ET52 and 18x10 ET54. They appear to be built for the 964 (?) but wondering if this wheel could be used with narrow body 996?
Thanks for your insight.
Thanks a lot! Any possible issues with wing clearance with 10mm spacer, do you think? I assume spacer is required because this ofset would not clear the suspension with a comfortable margin?
996.2 GT3 fitment is basically what I have and I agree with NYPOWR4.
(18x8.5 ET 53 & 18x11 ET63)
That's the perfect fitment for a 996.2.
996.1 might have to have the fenders rolled to run the 996.2 GT3 wheels/tires.
I'm not certain what the 996.1 GT3 sizes/offsets are.
I'm definitely not a wheel expert, so I might have the offset backwards and adding spacers may put you 10mm off the wrong way.
I can't remember if adding spacers adds or subtracts from the ET54.
If it subtracts it would make it even worse.
The gt3 offsets will work with zero issue at stock height. If u lower the car u may need some camber.
There r online calculators to compare other rim sizes to the gt3 specs and determine if the rim will sit in a similar space with respect to the fender lip.
https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=295&aspect=35&diameter=18&wheelwidth=11&offset=63&width2 =295&aspect2=35&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=10&offset2=54
Adding spaces reduces the offset, so they move the wheel out. a rear offset of 63 should not be a problem, the stock offset of narrow bodies is 65. But if you are in the mid to low 50's it can be a problem. Years ago, I have a set of wheels that I think were in the mid 50's and they rubbed on my 2000 C4 Cab. I rolled the fenders and they still rubbed on occasion. Of course, this also depends on the size of the tires.
Just a quick heads up. 996.2 GT3 front wheel fitment spec is not 8.5" ET53. It is ET40. So if you're running the 53 ET offset you're running 13mm inset compared with an OE 996.2 GT3/GT2 wheel.
You're correct with your rear wheel specs
Mk1 996 GT3 wheel specs are :
Front 8 x 18 ET52, but they run a 5 or 7mm (can't remember which) spacer from the factory, so they're actually ET47 or 46
Rear 10 x 18 ET65 (see above re factory fitted spacer so again they're effectively ET60 or 58) Both are relatively "weak" offsets that fail to fill the fenders convincingly. Note the Mk1 rear fender returns are huge and thus limit what spacers/large offset wheels you can run on the rear of the car, especially if you're planning a height drop.
I ran 9 (ET50) and 11" (ET56) BBS LM's on my Mk1 (but it required the rear fenders be rolled) :
PS, edit to add, the factory produced a wheel that looked identical to the 996.2 GT3 front wheel, but it was only 8" wide and had an of ET50. The wheels were designed for use on the 996 Turbo with its differing front hubs (due to the front driveshafts)
Happy to be proven wrong, but there's no such OZ Alleggerita wheel available as an 8.5" wide front with an ET of 50.
Here's what I understand the options to be (again, happy to be corrected) :
Front Wheel / Rear Wheel.
8.0J ET50 / 9.0J ET43
8.0J ET57 / 10J ET40
8.5J ET40 / 10J ET65
8.5J ET53 / 11J ET63
/ 11J ET45
/ 12J ET45
/ 12J ET68
/ 12J ET51
As I stated in my post above, the 996.2 GT3 OE front wheel spec is 8.5" x 18 ET 40. So if you're running an OZ that's 8.5" wide with an ET50 offset, you're running 10mm inboard of the fender compared with an OE GT3 wheel.
You may very well be right. My fronts could be ET53. That would explain the very small bit of rubbing on the inner fender at full lock. Probably could use a 10 mm spacer.
Correct, I have OZ 18x8.5 with ET53.
But my BBK rotors have a 5mm additional width per side, so mine is now an effective ET48.
My BBK kit contained optional spacers that I purchased but didn't install that are 5mm wide I believe.
I'll have to go measure them and I might add them when I swap my Carrera IIs for my OZ Allegeritas in a few weeks.
Not sure why would you spec ET53 8.5 when OZ produce an ET40 that exactly apes the OE 996.2 front wheel specs.
The OZ Alleggerita spoke design is specifically engineered to enable them to fit over big brakes (both callipers and rotors) so by specifying a wheel with nearly 1/2 less offset youre effectively undoing one of the major benefits of the Alleggerita design.
