Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a new to me 2005 C4S. I have noticed that there is a sleeve on the steering column that contains the turn signal arm and the cruise control arm. At times I have noticed that the sleeve appears loose and will rotate if I use the turn signals or the cruise control in an up or down motion. Is this normal or might there be a pin broken or missing or possibly just a loose screw?

POST 2Original post

I have the 99 with the 3 spoke steering and although nothing is loose on mine, when I turn the wheel left or right, I see two small phillip head screws looking at me. If yours is the same, are those tight on your car?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the video! It looks pretty involved as it appears I need to remove the steering wheel and all the plastic housing sections? I went to look at my car and it looks like the nut is behind all that stuff! I guess I'll have to look for a day with nothing to do!

POST 5Original post

I don't think you have to remove the steering wheel? Just the bottom half of the plastic collar behind the wheel. That vid is about replacing the turn signal assembly.
