Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 2000 C2 has a drivers window that's making a scratching sound when raised or lowered and it isn't lowering the 1 inch when opening/closing. These seem like a good deal. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/se...refValue=Coupe

POST 2Original post

Great price . I went with the redesigned one from pelican , roller bearing , it's supposed to reduce the load on the motor by 40% and last a lot longer than the oem ones I'm installing them this weekend

Vancouver996 let me know how that reg works out. My driver's side is on it's last legs too

POST 4Original post

Good find. I see a replacement for my passenger window in my not too distant future.

POST 5Original post

Famously the window regulator is not a part to buy aftermarket. I don't know about the Pelican part, but the cheap knockoffs wear out/break quickly. My shop won't install them.

POST 6Original post

The pelican ones are made by uro parts , an oem and after market supplier to many European car companies , it's not chinese kit The ones I just put in are more robust than the stock ones I took out , it's a common failure part on 996s . The uro one was designed with roller bearings to reduce the load on the motor and reduce failure rate . It's an upgrade rather than a like for like replacement And they are $147 vs $269 for porsche ones

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just installed the autopartswarhouse regulator in my drivers side door. The new piece is much tighter than the original set-up. Everything is working well but it does seem to put a little more strain on the motor than the original unit. Right now I'm happy with my 60 dollar repair. If it fails, I will try a URO unit..
