I used Sherwin Williams commercial epoxy, with color chips, with a commercial clearcoat on top of that, with texture granules mixed into it.

I got samples of each, subjected them to chemicals, abuse, etc, and after all that ended up using swisstrax Ribtrax.

I like the slotted ones but then I read about a guy who pulled them up every year to clean the debris that had fallen in.

Excellent information, just wanted to add that RD has parking stops which replace tiles and allows flexibility of location depending on car sizes.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm fixing to do one or the other & wanted to get an opinion from some of you, if you've installed one or the other in your garage. Was at Barrett-Jackson Show week before last & they were pushing Swiss Trax but i've also heard RD is pretty much the leader in the field & also made in the USA. Both seem pretty easy to install, just connect the pieces! Thanks
Thanks 2drt, that's one of the things they had told me especially living in Hot & Humid La. Both of them look pretty easy to assemble & then just do a lil' trim around the edges.
Become a member of 6Speedonline and RD will give ya a discount. Very happy with my RD flooring. I put down a barrier of landscape fabric and that stopped the clicking sound when you walk over them.
I bought some of the cheap Chinese flooring back in 2008. I still have most of it in the garage but it didn't hold up well. I do like the drainage part of it. I got the slotted stuff.
Have the RD floor and couldn't be happier. Tiles fit and do not loosen, warp or make any noise when travelled over.
Customer service was great, as they forgot to ship the edge pieces and overnighted them ASAP.

Thanks Guys, Wicked that looks Awesome & the color combo goes Perfect with your Car! KC, yeah i've heard a few stories about the Cheap stuff from Lowe's & Home Depot. Thanks Gator, i'll do that & i've had a few that told me about the fabric & i've had a few that said they didn't have any issues without it.
I'm really wanting to use RD in my new garage. I'm in Mass. and building a house-garage combo from a Morton space building with radiant in concrete through out. I'm not sure how much the RD will take away efficiency of the radiant heat.
The garage portion is 30 x 30 with 12' ceilings.
Lots of discussion here:

Other options to consider, if you haven't already ruled it out, are ceramic or porcelain. GL with your project whatever you decide.
Thanks Mark, this is a Great thread that pretty much covers Anything & Everything concerning Garage Flooring!
But, yeah i'm definitely going with either Race Deck or Swiss Trax (mainly cause it's so Easy even I can do it & i like the look of it especially with all the different patterns & colors)
I plan to use the wood look porcelain in the house section.
RD sent me a sample tile. I plan to experiment with it using infrared thermometer to see how much heat it will allow to pass.
The installation of RD appears so easy yielding great results.
So, I started with epoxy. New floor, properly prepped, and after about 3 years it got really slick when wet. Like black ice slick.
I looked at options, and evaluated racedeck and swisstrax. I got samples of each, subjected them to chemicals, abuse, etc, and after all that ended up using swisstrax Ribtrax. Had it for probably 4 years with lots of DIY, in the snow belt, and couldn't be happier. Has held up great, and the ribtrax lets all the slush/dirt/water, etc drain through. I hose it out about once a year.
I ended up on swisstrax because the tiles are thicker/larger, and seemed more durable (harder plastic) but not brittle. Its held up great.
Only things I don't like about it is that you need a rubber pad (or similar) to put under most ramps to use in the garage, small screws can fall through, and swisstrax doesn't really offer things like parking stops that snap in place.
Let me know if you want to discuss via pm, etc.
Excellent information, just wanted to add that RD has parking stops which replace tiles and allows flexibility of location depending on car sizes. You can also go with a flow through tile or solid tile depending on drainage needs.

I have around $500 in materials in a double garage, but it is rock hard; nothing will stick to it, so it is a breeze to clean, and it looks good. And it should last longer than I will.
What put me off epoxy was the prep and cure time (I'm in WA so it is relatively cold though this summer was an exception.)
With the plastic tile approach you could presumably do sections without having to remove everything from the garage. I like the slotted ones but then I read about a guy who pulled them up every year to clean the debris that had fallen in. I'm not sure that even KK would do that!
