When I was able to stop, I inspected the exhaust and discovered that it was not just the tip that was gone, it was the tip and the pipe which the tip attaches to, which connects to the upper muffler.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2001 C2 (Flat 6 Engine added in 2012) that was equipped with a GHL exhaust when I purchased it. My understanding is that GHL used to be located in Phoenix but is no longer in business. I was recently driving to Toronto and on a single lane ramp between two of Canada's busiest highways (400 and 401) when the exhaust note suddenly got louder, I heard a rattling noise, and looked in the rear view mirror in time to see my left exhaust tip bounding towards the side of the road. Unfortunately stopping to retrieve it was not an option as the ramp was super busy and there was no room between the road and the concrete barriers to stop without completely blocking traffic. When I was able to stop, I inspected the exhaust and discovered that it was not just the tip that was gone, it was the tip and the pipe which the tip attaches to, which connects to the upper muffler. It appears that the weld of the pipe to the upper muffler failed (fatigue?). So I need a new exhaust tip and I assume I need to get a new stainless pipe fabricated and welded to the muffler. If I can't get a GHL tip then I will need to get two new ones. So.....anyone got any ideas or any GHL parts?? Thanks in advance!!!
