Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I like to keep my cars as stock as possible (just my thing...), so when another 40th Anniversary 911 unfortunately became a donor vehicle, I bought its mufflers on ebay, had them shipped to Darin's shop, and after about two weeks Darin shipped them to me and I had them swapped/installed locally.

Suggestion
Darin is a pleasure to deal with and his mod really changes the 996 with a fabulous sound that it should have come with.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After 3 years of ownership and a lot of local searching, I finally decided to bite the bullet and get the Fister mod directly from Darin and FD Motorsports. All I can say is what a pleasure they are to deal with, how quickly and properly they ship things and OMG what a wonderful sound. Installed them today in the garage that was around 45 degrees while it snowed outside (man am I done with this winter). Thankfully I had removed my exhaust last year to do my plugs and coils so I was familiar with everything and I had replaced most of the clamps so the job was pretty easy. I was like a giddy schoolboy with anticipation and once I started it up and pushed the gas...I was thrilled. So I know it's been said a thousand times, but thanks Darin...without a doubt BEST MOD EVER!
So nymart........up for a road trip to CT and help me with mine sometime when the weather is warmer? I'm about 45 minutes east of Danbury....maybe invite a few peeps for a little gtg? My wife makes a mean chili!!!!
bac2h...be happy to drive up and give you a hand...it's a pretty easy removal and install. Let me know when you plan on doing it and we can set something up
Loving the Fist..996 runs great. Did the whole mod, went great with new turbo style SS tips. Went for a late night spin and no tips on return....Forgot to tighten them!!!! Hour later recovered them on Sunset Blvd...Oh the humanity.
First mod I did to my P-car when I bought it 2 years ago. Brings a smile to my face every time I go out. Best value for a Porsche modification. Had the pleasure of going to Darin's shop for the install. Great guy.
Completely agree!... Darin is the man and the mod is the way to go!... I'm almost a year after doing the mod and all I can say is that the sound improved a few hundred miles post-install (it was great to begin with and even better after!)... It completely changed the car's character and I love them... Especially love the sound when doing canyon carving trips...

I still have the originals intact and can enjoy the Fister sound from a donor set.
(Just to clarify mufflers on the 40th Anniversary are the same as other non-Turbo/GT vehicles... But I'm just a bit pickier I guess in keeping things as close to stock as possible)...
