Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
It was the first session on Friday and I was only four laps in.
Leading evidence: 'first session' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'first session' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check after last event' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The car was running great, oil was at right level and was just checked after last event for particles etc.

Suggestion
I don't want to hijack this thread but I was running cc 10.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Finally! After waiting for 16 months, the engine is going to be shipped to Vision Motorsports for a complete tear down and rebuild. Actually, I am going to trailer the engine down to Southern California and talk about the build with Dwain Dement.
I had the car 6 months, drove it less than 8,000 miles and the IMS bearing went with no warning whatsoever. Yes, we did our due diligence by straining the oil, cutting open the filter, etc. but everything was clean. No rattles, no nothing, just pop! My wife was driving it and didn't even know anything was wrong!
The car is going to get a complete [well, almost] renewal of wear parts. New rotors, pads, master cylinder, brake booster, coolant expansion tank w/sensor,
H&R springs, Bilstein Sport shocks, new suspension bushings, semi solid engine mounts, front and rear camber plates, CSF front radiators with new hosing [it looks as if a 3rd radiator will be installed, also], lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch and tires.
The engine will be taken to 4.0 liters with knife edged crank, GT3 oil cooler, X51 intake, Carillo rods, LN chain rails, LN chains, motorsport air/oil separator, deep oil sump/swirl pots, oil pump modification, underdrive pulley and the Fabspeed intake/exhaust/Evoms program.
The local indie Porsche shop is going to do the chassis work along with installing the 'new' engine.
I will take pictures of the engine before it gets put back into the chassis.
Congrats. I just had vision make a 3.8 out of a 3.4 on my car. My head dropped a valve and ruined the head and piston. I probably spent more more money than I should have, but I have my car set up just the way I like it for the track, so I was like just go for it. Dwain is real helpful and you should be happy with your engine. I just got my car back on Friday. I can't tell you how strong the engine is as its still breaking in, but Dwain wants me to take it in after it breaks in to dyno it. I will get back to you with the results. I probably will see your build.
Vision said there should be no problems with smog since there are no changes in cams. Cams would get more power, but the overlap to obtain that power may cause increased emissions. I do hope that this set up would allow me to keep up with more powerful cars at the track. We'll see when it all gets broken in and I get a DE in.
Here are some pics of Dwain taking the engine out of the trailer, engine in the shop [Vision Motorsports] and the engine being taken into the tear down section.
The shop is quite a place to behold! Lots of performance cars in various states of build. Vision even has an area where body and paint improvements and modifications take place.
This is not your normal Porsche shop!
If you look closely at the second picture, you will see spider webs on the engine since it was on a shelf for 14 months!
Must be the week of engine posts. Dwain does a good job on everything....sure it will be an awesome build.
I just had a 3.6 engine granade last weekend at PCA Featival of Speed.
We tore down and it is a complete loss.
I will post pics and start a different thread.
Considering the following:
3.6 from a Fellow POC Race Car
LS3 and renegade conversion
OR
A way out there idea since my guys( steve Parker and vali predescu of vali Motorsports) know boxsters inside and out....a 2.7 from 02 boxster.
Will post later
I don't run POC just do lots of DE stuff in PCA class CC08. I am not supper fast, but I do get fustrated when I can keep up with some cars in the turns and just get left behind in the straight. 88 clbsport what kind of 3.6 blew was it stock or a prepped engine. What kind of car you are running?
I don't want to hijack this thread but I was running cc 10. The engine was stock but the rest of the car was fully prepped for racing. In POC it would be a GT4 car and it was putting out just a little over 300 at the rear wheels.
It was the first session on Friday and I was only four laps in. The first two laps were under yellow and about 70%.
Laps 3-4 ended up being at about 9/10th and I got up to 156 on the front Street and a low 1:52. The car was running great, oil was at right level and was just checked after last event for particles etc. we were running the good joe Gibbs stuff as well.
I think with the banking,
The oil collected on one side of the engine as we unfortunately didn't have an accusump. It popped in turn 5 to smoke and a nice size flame. Got off track immediately and lost no fluid.
That is a big hp track for sure...I spent rest of weekend with 3000 pounds plus 31ti-110hp 4cylinder and street tires.
In my opinion people were for the most part very slow through turns and just drag racing down the big straights.
Keep driving fast in and through the turns and you will eventually be fast everywhere else as a result!!
As Mario Andretti once said...most people take the slow turns too fast and the fast turns too slow. Sorry about the motor...it just wasn't up to the job.

Really sorry about your car, Man!! But I'm interested how you got 300 hp at the rear wheels from a stock engine? Wish I made that much.
156 at Auto Club is really good! Closest I came to that was a new 981 Cayman S at 150.
Good show, Man! (How heavy are you?)
