Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

I never really think of it, although the car is going into the shop on Friday to have it checked/replaced and have the clutch looked at.
Leading evidence: 'Check /' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check /' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

And I did not have one thought of the IMS bearing! My car just howls down the highway! I frickin' love this thing! In the end, glad I got a 99, just a little more piece of mind I guess.
Now the heads will crack this week!
;-)
I thought about my IMS bearing this weekend, but only when I cut open my oil filter to see if it was sparkly. (Which it wasn't.) It really doesn't occupy my thoughts at all.
I agree, drive the snot out of it and don't worry!
I never really think of it, although the car is going into the shop on Friday to have it checked/replaced and have the clutch looked at. Not really worried, although the car and engine seem to be very happy at the moment and I would feel bad if something did happen. Plus, I'm not sure how much wear is left on the clutch so good enough excuse as any to get it in and see what we're dealing with.
Not if you let the engine warm up showing 100 degrees on the temp gauge before driving off. And don't drive the snot out of it untill the temps are 180 ish.
I drove mine 500 mile round trip to Yosemite and back .. Hammered it up some of the passes - the minivans in the slow lane didn't know what hit them - but ...
1. I have lne ims
2. I am using an app called Waze -- this is a must if you are going on a blast down the highway - flags a lot of the speed traps, red light cameras and other road hazzards ... Not fool proof - but I was impressed - v1 still used as backup or when no cell signal ... Check it out
Love it up there but haven't been back in years. I took my STi up there when it was young back around 06. My brother was up in his STi a few months ago and made me think of it. The wife and I are going to take the 89 from Wickenburg up to Sedona.
I agree on jealous of the nice roads part... I was out by Santa Barbara, CA this past week and must have muttered "I hate this POS Impala... I wish I had the 996" about every 5 minutes. Hell I would have taken the Cayenne and had fun with it too... stupid GM front wheel drive crap. (rental)
