Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am replacing the GT3 Euro Seats with GT3 Sport Seats. The car originally has comfort seats with memory option. However, the Sport Seats do not have memory and I don't have a memory module to retrofit. The passenger seat went in fine. However, the drivers seat's power did not work. Upon further examination, I realized that there was not a Red power wire on the harness connector on the car side to relocate. Only 2 pins that had Brown wires. I assume both of those are 12 negative. So, what is the best way to bypass the memory module. I do see a unused wiring hardness with a big Red wire, probably power going to the memory module. Can I just splice that into the Red on the seat. Since the harness connect does not have a socket pin for the RED, I will be able to splice a power cable directly into the harness connector, so will a patch wire be acceptable?

POST 2Original post

I did the same and also removed my memory module altogether.

Forgot I posted question. I just post another one with more detail. Where did you get the extra pin(socket); from another harness?

POST 4Original post

yes, just pull it out from unused one and move it over to the proper location.

Ok, dumb question. How did u get the pin out. A special tool?

POST 6Original post

There are special tools to do it but if you have a really small screwdriver you can usually wiggle them out.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Guys. Did the mod. Works like a charm!

POST 8Original post

Great it worked out for you. Enjoy your new seats.
