Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd had a hot start issue since getting the car back with the FSI engine over a year ago (in no way related to FSI I should clarify). Was bearable at first, then got progressively worse over time with even cold starts being a little sketchy the last couple weeks. After stalling the car in the middle of Sunset Blvd on a warm Hollywood afternoon in stop and go traffic, and being embarrassingly stranded for 15 mins until the car cooled down and I could get it to turn over, I figured I should probably do something about it. Yep, I shoulda done it way sooner. Anyway, had the Indy install the new cable and the issue is no more. After 20 years the old one was in pretty rough shape. POST 2Original post

Mine isnt too bad but I know I need to do this.

POST 3Original post

instead of going with the OEM Y cable, I had Battery Cable USA fab me up two OO cables with end and one from the jump box to the starter and the other from the jump box to the alternator. not a problem drawing amperage thru them cables and all for less than 30 dollars.

POST 4Original post

FSI will replace mine, and my started when they build my Stage II 4.0. I haven't had any issues, but figured that's the best time to replace them, while the engine is out...and someone else is doing the labor.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

100% Tex. Thought about doing it myself but it's kinda a pain to get to.
