Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This is about as non-scientific as it can get because I used an RGB image to get a hex code that is basically "Meridian looking" as a flat color.
Leading evidence: 'Use rgb image' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'fourth one over' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean any residue left if any' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
Monochromatic (This is what I suggested, probably the fourth one over from the left is closest to where my mind was at with my suggestion of taupe - probably a bit darker than the below, however, would look nicest IMO.)

Suggestion
They come right off with a little heat, a pull and some goo be gone to clean any residue left if any.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone considered or even put on the 'Carrera' side decals from the legendary 73 Carrera RS on their 996?

Spoiler alert, I ordered and have received them already. I'm just hesitant to slap it on. I ordered Black, maybe I should have gone another color for my meridian metallic car. The cornfield are is from rennbow.com, and the rear quarter photo is actually my car, from BaT. I posted two as the color is schizophrenic I swear. It looks grey / silver, dull gold, pewter, I don't know maybe my old eyes are just weak. It think the standard black is cool, but maybe Matt Black or Dark Gray or even Light Gray would be nicer? Any designers in the house? Does Gulf Blue look nice on this color?
Put them on, try them out. They come right off with a little heat, a pull and some goo be gone to clean any residue left if any.
Im a big side script fan.
I’m in the same dilemma I tried ordering from Grafik but in black or red only as a magnetic but it seams he’s sick and not producing or answering
I was ordering both colors and choose on the car but now I’m still searching for another source
I'm a designer. Basically the issue you're up against is your car is painted what is called a "tinted neutral" and not only that it is a tinted neutral metallic. Meridian metallic appears to be a silver neutral tinted with some red maybe some yellow too, I'm better at guessing ink mixes than paint mixes. So you are probably finding the issue with shades of grays is they only match your paint in "certain lights" and then they look a bit off in other lights. Picking black was your best bet here for finding a contrasting neutral color for your base color if you want it to look "right" at all times of the day. Matte black would probably look cool against the metallic paint but I don't think gloss black is a mistake.
I think gulf blue would be a mistake - it will clash hard on meridian.
If you had the option to get a custom color made and wanted to get a color that naturally, according to "color theory" as they call it, matched the meridian, you'd probably end up with a sticker that is dark taupe or something like that.
Thank you so much! I did try color theory w a color wheel, but not knowing the pantone or RGB of the paint made my head spin. Thanks to all of you and especially the good Dr.
Script is going on. Or, as soon as I work up the courage to try it. Or take it to the tint place...
There are other vinyl colors available, some of them match PMS, and most use
3M, Oracal, VinylEfx, Griff Decorative Films, and GT5. If you go online, check out the various companies that sell rolls of vinyl and get a sample chart, then
find a graphics sign company with some talent that can scan the font and the design, do a paper mock-up for fitment, and then take some vinyl samples and lay them on the car to see what works. At that point, the sky is the limit with choices of fonts, design, and colors,........ Look, why just settle when one can be more selective? After all, it is your Porsche.
If you're able to find your own colors I helped you out with your color wheels here. This is about as non-scientific as it can get because I used an RGB image to get a hex code that is basically "Meridian looking" as a flat color. Kinda beige-y. But you get an idea of why you were probably having a hard time finding vibrant colors that look good because your color wheel comes out more earthen. My Meridian color is the color on the left of all of these swatches.
