Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is some residue behind my throttle body at the hose clamps. Is this an indicator I need to replace the AOS.? The picture is not great but shows the point of concern (where the screwdriver is pointing).

POST 2Original post

Is your AOS->Plenum hose cracked? It sure looks like it. I can't see any residue though.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no looks good, its only on the left side (looking forward)

POST 4Original post

Oh, now I see. Check and make sure your hose clamps are tight. If it still appears to be leaking, replace the rubber sleeve. I have a couple of spare sleeves. If you're ever down here we can do a smoke test and see if it is leaking there. Then we can try one of my spares. Doh, I just realized that rubber sleeve is the one with the vacuum hole in it. I'm not 100% certain that I have a spare one of those. My spares are for the other 3.

Thanks I'll take it off and clean it and watch it. Nothing wrong with soaking the throttle bottle in carb cleaner for a night while its out is there?

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 16580685

Yes, there are too many electronics to soak a throttle body in anything. I clean throttle bodies with CRC Throttle Body and Air Intake cleaner. You can soak a paper towel and lay it inside of the throttle body of there is a buildup behind the plate.
