Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Fortunately it doesn't show as we changed the lip over to an original Anniversity model Aero version (gives a little more clearance and doesn't have the forward projecting edge that catches on everything) also is half the price of the original style (we got through a couple of the standard ones prior to fitting this one!).

The next cheapest thing I am going try and what I suspect is probably is it and that is the official Porsche loom repair kit that replaces the cable from the sensor/pad wear indicator back into the Frunk mounted ABS unit.
Leading evidence: 'Replace lip over' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair kit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I am now using remote to lower the window prior to opening the door to save damaging the seals.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I spent half a day changing the wheel sensor a few weeks ago (they are just so much fun to do when they don't want to come out...) but that hasn't fixed it.
Hello Folks
First time poster.
Myself and fellow petrol head missus live in Surrey, UK and for the last couple of years have had a 2002 black 996TT X50 manual (now covered about 93K miles). The car is stock apart from an Alpine double DIN ICE instead of the PCM. It still has the BOSE speakers and I suspect the BOSE amp as by the time you have move the volume from 00 to 03 on the head until it's very loud and the sub control on the unit doesn't work. That's on the list to sort along with the carbon fiber issues. The original owner must have spent a fair bit on this one as along with the X50 ticked the options list for just about every bit of carbon fiber you can specify for the inside. Alas 18 years on we have some cracks on the steering wheel and some other bits which we can live with but the side dash vents and the long piece that runs from them all the way round the base of the windscreen on the top of dash is lifting pretty badly at the edges.
This is our second 911 as we had a 1985 3.2 Targa (915 gearbox) that we did a big mileage in about 15 years ago. For me the TT is isn't quite same animal but underneath there still is the 911 experience albeit not as raw and untamed as our 3.2 sans ABS, PSM and the fancy rear suspension. I don't get the same level of trepidation when walking towards it keys in hand as the 3.2. This one doesn't seem to greet you with the 'I can and will bite you if you screw up so watch it'
Up to the end of a last year things were going good with the TT but I think we have hit that time when a bunch of stuff gives up without warning. The coolant pump gave up in France on the the way back from the Swiss Alps which was a pain (got to spend a night in Luxembourg... long story) and I had to change the voltage regulator on the alternator as that gave out a month or two ago. Added to that we have a intermittent ABS/PSM failure that my code reader says is the left front wheel sensor. I spent half a day changing the wheel sensor a few weeks ago (they are just so much fun to do when they don't want to come out...) but that hasn't fixed it. The next cheapest thing I am going try and what I suspect is probably is it and that is the official Porsche loom repair kit that replaces the cable from the sensor/pad wear indicator back into the Frunk mounted ABS unit.
Yesterday didn't go well though:
It started with me touching down the front spoiler on a weirdly cambered junction. Fortunately it doesn't show as we changed the lip over to an original Anniversity model Aero version (gives a little more clearance and doesn't have the forward projecting edge that catches on everything) also is half the price of the original style (we got through a couple of the standard ones prior to fitting this one!). We don't track it or have the opportunity to go real fast so the loss of a bit of high speed front down force doesn't come into it for us. It only takes a matter of minutes to undo the two screws in the wheel arches and pull it out of the channel it sits in any case if you want to swap back. Next up when we got to the seaside the drivers door seal window auto drop stopped working and we now get the double 'beep' when you go to lock it. I am now using remote to lower the window prior to opening the door to save damaging the seals. Multiple error codes in the alarm sub system seems to suggest a new drivers door lock assembly is going to be the fix.
The third thing that occurred when driving back was a sudden loss of power and sounds of boost escaping when accelerating. What is that expression about things happening in threes?
I thought that maybe I had not properly connected up the boost pipes after doing the alternator reg (I did fit new seals when I put it back together) but it wasn't that. What has happened is the cap on one of boost blow off valves (next to the oil filter on top the engine) has 'blown off' and is now sitting about a 1/4" inch above the valve body on it's spring. I will change it obviously but I wanted to ask the sages of this forum is this just a failure of the valve or has something (I can't think what as the waste gates appear to be working) caused it to blow. I don't want to spend 170 on a new valve only to have it 'blow it's top' like this one has.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for sharing your story. You may want to consider posting this in the 996 Turbo forum as many of we N/A folks don't have turbine experience to draw from.
Bon chance!
Sounds like a broken spring on the blow off valve.
I doubt it is from too much boost.
I would replace it and then use a scanner (like Durametric) to see how much boost you're generating to confirm waste gates are working properly.
I also agree with jobyt, posting this in the 996TT forum would likely get better results.
