Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

996.1 OEM option that came on most '01 cars:

Another cheaper and non-oem option:

Unlike most on the board (it seems) I prefer the OEM option that alpine listed although it only really works with smaller drinks - perfect for a cappuccino.
If you have time to sip on a drink, listen to the radio or even look at a big screen down there, fumble for something in the glove box, then you're not driving the Porsche like it was meant to be driven.
How hard is it to install that OEM side by side cup holder?
And... why is Suncoast so often referred to? Do they have more parts or better prices than other Porsche dealers? I live near Sarasota, I could take a drive down there for a shopping trip
Both Suncoast and Sunset have historically have had very good prices/service. Suncoast has one of the better online sites with pics hence the reason why it's often linked. Suncoast also carries a select amounts of aftermarket items too apart from the normal dealer/factory stuff.
I did the side by side install on my other 996. Nothing stayed in them. Every bottle, cup, flask, would come flying out. Stick with the ultimate cup holder. It will change your life.
I went with this one. Easy to install and remove, not permanent and took away that little gap. I like it a lot.

+1 on the ultimate cupholder. I have mine set in the footwell of the passenger side. The only issue I have is when I move the passenger seat up too far, it runs into it.
No there isn't a bottom so a can and certain water bottles (depending on shape) fall right through. I got it for my contigo travel mug that I put my coffee in every morning so I don't spill anything in the car. It fits well. The holder is pretty minimal and like I mentioned earlier, easy to take out if you want.
OEM, looks great, but you will need to move the AC unit to the bottom. There are limitations to the size of cup. No, suncoast is just good at marketting themselves.
