I know that due to environmental regulations Porsche is using paint on a waterbasis.Of course other manufacturers must confirm to the same regulations, but does anyone know if for instance the paint of a BMW or Cherokee is stronger than the paint used by Porsche?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

My experience with my BMW Z3 is that the BMW paint was very soft and chipped very easily. That was easily the weakest quality point on the entire car.
