Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

So here's where I'm at:
Just purchased a beautiful C4S after years of BMW ownership.
- By far, it is the most expensive car I have owned. I went out on a limb, drove to another state to pick it up.
- I absolutely love the car and plan on keeping it for a long period.
- I plan on driving the car every single day 30-50 miles.
- Before the car was purchased, a PPI was done at two separate shops and with flying colors.
Given 6 mos of reading and research, I am pretty much at the point of losing sleep over the fact that my car (that I just spent a considerable amount of money on) will grenade itself (thanks Jay Raby).
Given all that, I basically decided to dish out another 1500-4000 on a solution. I have narrowed it down to the LN IMS Solution. I like the design, the research behind it and am willing to pay for a solution vs a temporary fix.
With everything I have already spent on the car 2PPIs, new tires, etc, I can't afford to ship my car out of state to an "authorized shop."
Is there anyone in FL with a shop that has gone through the install with favorable results?

Both of those are 8+ hours from me. Looking for someone in South FL. There has to be someone. Wish I could have my car taken to Flat6 for a week to have it done.
How can you be in S FL and 8 hrs from Sarasota? In 8 hrs you could be in Cleveland, GA.
Anyway, I agree with your choice of the Solution and plan to do that to my car as well. I winter in Sarasota, live in NC, so will likely take it to Mr. Raby in N. GA.
We shipped 3 Florida cars in today, they'll be here tomorrow, and turned around by the first week of February. We'll drop these off, and grab 3 more. I just tested up the car below, shipped in from Oregon for my IMS Solution. This is also a C4s from 2004, so we consider Florida to be local.
To date I have yet to Certify any Installers for the IMS Solution in Florida, though I have invited 3 different shops to the program. None of them have passed the evaluations to date.
The IMS Solution Patent has my name on it, we've installed more of these than any shop in the world, yet we treat every one like the first one. Exhaustive pre- procedure qualifications are the first step, and the step that no one else will carry out as completely as we do. We don't just slam the bearing in the engine; we systematically document that the engine is healthy enough for the technology to be applied to it, without wasting your money, and our reputation.
The timing chain photo below came from a 2002 996 C4 with 50K on the odometer that was also from Florida, it just arrived home yesterday. During the pre- evaluation we found a chunk of timing chain roller in the sump, and disqualified the engine. The owner had us go deeper, and we removed the main timing chains, and found the culprit. Had this inspection not been carried out, this engine would have failed imminently, as the chain was already stretched, and 1/3 of the roller was missing. We applied my Iwis master linked timing chains, and completed the IMS Solution, and the owner is now still enjoying the car. No one knew that chain was failing, and the IMS Solution job was being done preventatively. Had we not found that, the IMS Solution/ install would have been blamed for the engine failure, since it would have happened just after someone's hands had been inside the engine.
Here they are all guilty until proven innocent. Thats how we've done this almost 550 times without ever having a single botched procedure, or failure after the work was carried out.

I didn't do the IMS on my car neither 2 of the other 996 owners from the PCA, one with 10000 miles (yes ten thousand miles) and another with 80000 miles, I'm still deciding if I'm going to do it or not, but if I do, I'll go with the direct oil feed, unfortunately Jake is booked till 2032 by that year petrol cars are going to be banned, and more than likely my 996 will be gone. I will recommended to join the Gold Coast Region PCA. Lots of activities to enjoy your Porsche, not to worry about it
The logistics of that are way too much. Approx 400+ each way to ship the car plus another 4000+ to do the work. On top of that I'm looking at a 2-3 month wait, not to mention the time it takes to ship the car up and back. This is my only car.

The TuneRS solution is not what I am looking for. I don't believe the issue is with lubricantion like he says. I called and spoke to him and wasn't really satisfied with his ability to articulate why his solution was the best or why it was better than other solutions.
I may try to plan it out somehow.
