Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 3Original post

For a DD, 300-400 HP is enough for me. A thousand horsepower sounds like a lot of fun, but it also sounds like a world of broken halfshafts and motor mounts, new tires every month, and a bus pass once they take my license away.

POST 4Original post

296 hp made me man enough to get 2 tickets in the '99. So, there's your answer, Hurdi.

Nooo! You were done for speeding in a 996? Well, at least you're man enough to admit it on this board.

POST 6Original post

Drive something with 500 hp long enough Hurdi, and you get used to it. Naturally, you start wanting more.

POST 7Original post

Went on a run with Bisi through the Santa Monica mountains . His purple 996 N/A that now has two turbos sounds great . Very quick car on the straights .

POST 8Original post

Like they say in aviation; 'A 65HP J3 Cub will just barely kill ya. But - it will kill ya just the same'. I have no interest in making my bone stock Mk1 any faster with mods. However, I used to have a jet boat that I spent a fair amount of money hopping up. There are still a few rural large lakes that have no published 'speed limit', or they are big enough you can get away from it enough to put the hammer down. Plus, doing 70MPH on the water feels like 300 anyway. I'm over it now.
