Saw several rennlist posts on how to replace the switch but wasnt clear if this position 1 and 2 issue would be resolved from that vs those who replaced because their lights wouldnt turn on.

As soon as i remove my hand, the switch falls back to normal headlight operation and will not stay in that popped out position that we use for the fogs.

Has anyone had an issue with their headlight switch not working properly? For normal headlights, it works perfectly fine. In order to turn the foglights on, I can pull the headlight switch and it will work, but the switch will not stay in place. As soon as i remove my hand, the switch falls back to normal headlight operation and will not stay in that popped out position that we use for the fogs. Any clues as to what the issue would be? I'm wondering if it's something that can be repaired, or if a new switch is needed.

Are you sure you are not activating the rear fog lights? For the front ones, is just one popped position, for the rears, is like you descrive, pop and it returns to the second position

There's a little plastic tab in the switch that has broken off. New switch time!...Don't wait till the lights no longer work like I did.

Quick Q - does a new switch fix the issue of when you pull the slight switch out it wont hold 1st or 2nd position to activate the fog lights? my light switch on my 996 turns left and right to get the headlights on but will not stay in position 1 or 2 when i pull it out.
