I'm running Billy Boat mufflers on stock cats and think it hits the sweet spot.

Suggestion
I'd probably recommend trying an X pipe with fister mod if you are fine running without cats.

I've been experimenting the last few days running headers, 200 cell and no mufflers.

I don't necessarily want tame, just not sure I want as loud as what I hear on YouTube with guys running no cats at all.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, does anyone have any experience with this exhaust? I am trying to get an idea of how loud it is WITH cats. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube, but all of them are without cats, and some with headers. I know it is a loud system, but I'm wondering how much factory headers and cats will tame it.
Anyone?
Thanks!
I had the headers, cats and supercup. It was quite loud. Not sure why anyone would do supercup with factory cats though. If i wanted tame i would not pay up for supercup cans.
Valid point. Thanks.
I don't necessarily want tame, just not sure I want as loud as what I hear on YouTube with guys running no cats at all. I would consider swapping factory cats for aftermarket, but running no cats at all ain't happening.
I've run the super cups with factory cats. I found them too loud and too drone-y for my tastes; Fabspeed informed me that their x pipe will eliminate the drone. With stock cats, you get the most drone between 2500-3200ish rpm. Given that I already had a set of maxflos; I put them back on and prefer the maxflos with stock cats.
FWIW, if you are going to keep the factory headers and cats, save yourself some money and go with a gundo hack. Absolutely incredible sounds.
See the Mufler delete thread for more info.
The drone was pretty bad on the Supercups. Between 2500 and 3200 as mentioned above droned and made city driving pretty annoying. It was fairly loud all the time. With my GT3 and straight pipes, I can hold a conversation on the freeway without straining my voice. With the 996 and super cup pipes my voice would get raspy if trying to talk for awhile.
I'd probably recommend trying an X pipe with fister mod if you are fine running without cats. It's a decent volume increase over just the fister mod and the sound is a lot more exotic
Those are loud. The aero That was here at my house yesterday is louder at idle than mine and it also has drone. I have the maxflo, with fabspeed catless x pipes and soul headers. Awesome combination no drone at all, the music symphony starts at 4,000 rpms.
I have them with stock cats and headers, couldn't be happier! The quality is fantastic, and the volume is fine for what "I" like (in the past I had a big block Vette with a 454, header/sidepipes, and a gear drive, so loud is okay!). I had Tubi's and Mille Miglia's prior to the Fabspeed's, and the Supercups are louder with resonance between 2,200-2,600 rpm, but.... that is okay. All three sound very different, so depending on what "tonality" you like, it will make a difference. So for me there were two factors to deal with: one, the pitch/tonality, and two, volume. The Fabspeed's have the lower pitch/rumble through 3-4k, then they get higher in pitch and sound very cup car.
I thought about going to a 200 cel x-pipe when the factory cats need to be replaced.
I have them with all other stock exhaust components and I drive long distance in it frequently. If you can drop the windows and/or open the sunroof, the drone is nonexistent. Heres a link to my comparison video with a friend who has delete pipes.

Michael Luis in Texas. We have a couple of things in common meats, bbq, smoking and the love for the ducktail. I aint stealing your show or doing any you tube channel make more than enough from my investments. Anyway a big thing about the exhaust is the weight removal. X pipes are great improvement but then there is more sound, so are headers. Ill be liking your videos, someone here sent me your way and I wasnt aware you were here on rennlist. Godspeed. Let me show you dinner tonight. A pair of 14 oz Nolan Ryan prime 34 strip steaks with garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, chopped salad, bacon, croutons, avocado ranch, on mine I always add blue cheese dressing. Loved your shirt too, mine says IDED (I drink every day).
This Nolan Ryan beef is exclusively at Kroger, Im friends with the butcher shop manager so I get all kinds of deals, I even have drinks with him sometimes. Live to use McCormick Montreal steak and fresh ground garlic salt. I do dry brine.
IPAs ( I pee a lot)
mike i dont buy the crap that AOC says about cows hurting our environment. Anyway a piece of trivia. The biggest meat consumption date for Americans is in may Memorial Day, official start of summer every one wants to grill. Specially people that were freezing 🥶 their behinds. I used to
grill in single digits weather here in Texas i
grill, bbq
every day, most days wearing shorts and drinking beer. Life is good.

Nomz. Lol. I do love to cook. I saw the Nolan Ryan steak signs everywhere last time I was in Texas.
Im taking a road-trip next month from Mississippi to Colorado and Salt Lake. Ill let you know after that if I still feel the same, but I suspect I will!

Based on what I been told Nolan Ryan beef is exclusively sold at Kroger. 1. USDA choice black Angus. 2. Best Prime 34 (off course price is higher). If you buy some at Kroger also buy AKAUSHI Texas Wagyu, even more marbling, not Japanese Wagyu A5, but better than prime. Wish you the best on your trip, hopefully many smiles.
Of course it all comes down to perspective, tolerance, and opinion. I did not say they dont drone, but only that with the windows down it doesnt. If youre running the highway for a few hundred miles in the rain thats no fun on the ears!
@GC996
Gundo? Or Fister?
I only ask because it seems that some folks frequently intertwine the two names/methods. Ive got a set of Techart mufflers and Im trying to decide whether to go Gundo or Fister.
Here's a good thread with video clips from various exhaust setups. I'm running Billy Boat mufflers on stock cats and think it hits the sweet spot. Nice grumble 2K+ RPM and pretty quiet when cruising.

I've been experimenting the last few days running headers, 200 cell and no mufflers. It's actually insane and I can't imagine it any louder without cats. I'm just trying to determine if I want to throw supercups on the 200 cell or cat delete and stick with maxflos
