Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Might be a long shot, but I thought both my bulbs were out, change them both, nothing. Checked fuse A8 - looks good. Check voltage at the wire ends at the bulb socket and there is no voltage. I am missing something here? Or I just have try and see if I can follow the wires. This is a Canada car - and the previous owner took out the daytime running light moduale/resistor, not sure if this would have any affect on the rear plate? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

Could be someone took the rear bumper off and forgot to plug the electrical connector for the lights back in. You would have to remove the rear bumper to check.

POST 3Original post

Remove the philips head screws that hold the top of the bumper cover (under the engine lid), you may be able to open a gap up just enough to see the plug. Or you may be able to come up from the bottom of the bumper, between it and the heat shield.

POST 4Original post

My license plate lights didn’t work either. I tried tracing the wire / power supply but quickly abandoned the chase. I took off the bumper and the left tail light and tapped into that light to power up the plate lights. It was an easy job, particularly taking off the bumper.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
