Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The only thing I have checked are the fuses, and they are fine.
Leading evidence: 'Check are the fuses, and they are fine' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'compressor the fan would still come' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check are the fuses, and they are fine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
If it was the compressor the fan would still come on and vice versa for a bad fan relay.

Suggestion
If not and the fuses are good, then you are going to have to check the relays for the AC compressor and for the fans.

Suggestion
A durametric can activate the compressor and the fans seperately to check those functions.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last week my 2004 C4S AC stopped working. The display turns on and all commands seem to be working, but the compresor does not seem to come on and the fan does not work either. The only thing I have checked are the fuses, and they are fine. Perhaps there's some basic diagnostics I can do before taking it into the shop. Thanks
What is the pressure on the refrigerant? Thats the first place u should start....if u cant do that then it has to go to the shop. Sounds like the low pressure cut off kicked in (refrigerant leak) thus its not turning the system on. If it was the compressor the fan would still come on and vice versa for a bad fan relay. Either the signal is not being sent from the dash controller (very rare) or a sensor is cutting the signal.
AC systems are both fickle and simple. Put the AC temp on LO and the manual HVAC fan on about midway. Open engine bay and see if the AC compressor clutch is engaged. If not and the fuses are good, then you are going to have to check the relays for the AC compressor and for the fans. The relays for the fans are under the dash. The AC relay is under the shelf carpet behind the seats.
Again unless both the relays for the fans and for the ac clutch r bad, 1 or the other would turn on with the ac button. If the compressor clutch does not latch and the fans do not turn on there is an issue with a sensor that is not allowing the system to activate.
A durametric can activate the compressor and the fans seperately to check those functions. I also think it will give the status of the low pressure switch.
