Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

Welcome . In the US the local auto parts stores will scan the car for free . Is that the case in the UK ? If it is get that done first . A DIY tool with a good history is the Durametric . It is a cable that works with a Windows based laptop computer and their proprietary software . There are stand alone handheld devices that can be purchased also . If there is a local Porsche club that would be a good source for info . They would also be able to recommend local independent shops for advice/help . Good luck

POST 3Original post

U need a durametric or even some $100 scanners like a foxwell will do what u need. It will be good to see short fuel numbers and o2 sensors in graphs to try and see whats happening. Bad injecrors should show lean short term fuel conditions. A sticking variocam seliniod will also cause a stumble and u can see it in the crank angle but that will usually throw a code. Keep reading as there r many things to read and learn about these cars already posted.
