Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently manually opened my top, I used the tool to raise the clamshell. After module repair I am trying to get everything in order. I used the switch to open the top partially, re attached the cables, and then shut the top all with the switch... I was hoping the clamshell would now close itself but it did not. Could I have damaged it opening the clamshell with the tool? do I need to do something special to get it to close after it was manaully cranked open?

POST 2Original post

You might have sheared the drive pin that connect the clamshell drive motor to the drive mechanism. Check the end of this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...more-pics.html
