My scan tool (Autel MS906) will read codes but I can't get live data or calibrate. There was a spare control module for soft top as well a a clamshell motor. My guess previous owner replaced both trying to get the top to work. It also looks like the cylinders have been worked on. 1) Potentiometer that is on left cylinder is connected and attached properly. 2) fluid level is fine. no visible hydraulic leaks. Pump doesn't seem to want to activate. Pressure relief valve is closed. 3) Clamshell comes up, front lock unlatches and then top stops moving. I can hit switch to get it to close up again. What scan tool would you recommend since mine is a bust? What would you recommend looking at?

Check all the limit switches. Since it stops after the front lock unlatches, I'd suspect that limit switch (inside the hook mechanism housing). Could also be the side flaps or any of the other microswitches.

I ordered durametric scan tool to help diagnose. No live data. Basically same as the tool I already have. started checking each limit switch manually and noticed lower limit switches on flaps were in different states. One side was not pressed the other one was. turns out a flap is broken so it wasn�t lowering to press the switch. Waiting on part

New flap fixed issue. No need to recalibrate after replacement.
