Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm at work today with it, I'll double-check the torque tonight.

Probably not so easy to get that surface clean after it's been painted but the powder coat guys seem to ignore it and that would likely be even worse.

The ceramic makes cleaning super easy that even a regular garden hose without soap can transform them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Now that the weather is crap in my state, I thought I'd tackle a couple projects that I've put off this year. One is to repaint the inner barrels of my turbo twist wheels on my 2003 C4S. Does anyone know a good source for a spray paint that is a good match to the silver color on these wheels?
Thanks for the help!
Subscribed. My paint shop recommended that I do this too, because its a small detail that really makes the car pop. They said they would just match it and do it for me, and maybe its a good time to throw the car up on jack stands and get it done. I dont think they need to take the tires off to get that done, and a ceramic coating can easily be applied after the paint has cured for a few weeks. The ceramic makes cleaning super easy that even a regular garden hose without soap can transform them.
I dunno what the paint code is but if you can find it usually you can find it in a can or someone willing to make it in a can. I was able to get sepang blue for my Audi to make a colo matched intake that way.
Wurth is almost a perfect match. I would only use for repair or touch-up. I would mix PP&G to match, then shoot it with a HVLP paint gun followed by clear coating.

close match
I never even thought about painting the barrels of the wheels -- does anybody have before & after pics of barrel painting?
Last year I purchased a brand new real wheel from Porsche (Carrera II 18"). The barrels are NOT the same silver as the front of the wheel. It's kind of a greyish/blue mix.
Here's some pics of the new wheel when it was about a month old:
Thanks. I did know that they are different paint colors, I'm just trying to picture what they look like mounted when the inner barrels have been painted the same color. Seems like it would make a subtle but cool difference. It wouldn't have taken me almost any time to spray the barrels "while I was in there" restoring the wheels -- so part of me is wishing I had done that (the other part of me is an originality guy, but extremely subtle mods are always tempting).
UPDATE:
Got the wheel yesterday, looked good, I'd give it a solid "9". Color seems to match my one year old wheel on the outside, but the barrel is painted the same color. There is one defect, you can see it in the last pic. Just had it mounted and the Hunter number was 24 at first, moved the tire around and got it down to 13, not bad. The old wheel before it was bent it was a 6. I haven't driven it yet, so can't attest to how it feels, but it seemed true on the balance machine.
Not sure if I'd buy from this guy again, $570 shipped is pretty pricey for a rebuilt wheel.
Here's some pics of the new wheel before mounting:
Yes, that is the recommendation. I imagine it is not followed in many cases. Probably not so easy to get that surface clean after it's been painted but the powder coat guys seem to ignore it and that would likely be even worse.
Will do! It was a bugger to get on the hub. I'm at work today with it, I'll double-check the torque tonight. Today is the first drive since I put it on.
